Best news yet from Samsung!
They are moving in the right direction... Because app ecosystem is the most important thing - and Wear OS is improving very fast. most app developers that develop for android can simply adjust their app to support wear, when on Tizen they were supposed to write the app from scratch and maintain it... basically, Android ecosystem from Smartphone to WearOS to Android Auto and Android TV is the best and simplest way to go...
Better apps, faster updates etc etc
Why the hell would someone want to buy Tizen watch\phone!?

I love my Gear S3, it's beautiful and packed with features. I especially like it because it runs TIZEN. Why are people obsessed with cramming hundreds of useless apps on a watch? Samsung and third party developers provide everything you need from fitness tracking, navigation, music players and playback control, news, weather, schedule, pay, messaging, hundreds of watch faces and many more features that are too many to mention. It's a much more elegant looking OS too. The only thing missing is Google Assistant but then again who feels comfortable talking into their watch?

The major difference here is their main source of income is not from ads and mining data. The basic foundation of Tizen OS was not designed with the intention of mining user data .

Oh please just get rid of Tizen. ugliest watchfaces, almost no usefull app and all paid apps are overpriced. no idea what is advantage of Tizen over Wear OS. my Gears S3 is on the shelves since months cause all usefull apps like, a keyboard, google maps, a browser, google assistant and more are not on Tizen. ffs who needs Tizen?!

Eh. Even if Samsung does this cool features on their smartwatches, they are still far behind on Apple and Xiaomi, which BTW are surging the Q1 market.

Anonymous, 23 May 2018What is tierzen what is smart os?It's TIZEN (pronounced: Tai-zen) and it's an OS that samsung themself developed in order to try and compete against iOS and Android back then. A few devices actually ran the OS, Namely Galaxy Z1, Z2, Z3, Z4 and most of the smartwatches.
And Smart OS? Perhaps you mean "wear OS", Previously known as "Android Wear" is an EXTREMELY light version of android that is built specifically for wearables: Watches, Glasses, etc.

samsung did mot make me use tizen, instead made me search and try other new brands running wear os.
some other new brands are really good, same powerful watch, fashionable design, low price, changable straps. i dont care if samsung will release wear os watch in future. i had switched.
watch is a fashionable item, instead of an electronic one. how samsung design and sell the watches is essential.

Haidy, 23 May 2018WearOS is shit in comparison with Tizen!Same old unfounded comments fuelled by rumour mill and poor journalism. Wear OS has features that no one uses, no one talks about but are great. E.g. why occupy your right hand rotating bezels and crowns to navigate, when Wear OS offers wrist gestures and allows you to check your notifications without having to use your other hand?
...and yet everyone is in awe with Gear rotating bezel (which btw, Wear OS also supports meanwhile).
