Give it a notch!!, 28 May 2018Those curve and no notch. Totally disappointed. No notch m... morewho cares? for the millions of people who have bought 1 (me included) i couldn't care less about the design as I don't intend to walk around showing off my phone. I prefer its functionality over design any day. in fact, battery life is fantastic! you're clearly outdated yourself if you think design is the be all end all for phones.

Samsung has the guts to keep their original design instead of following trends.

No notch please! As a owner of Note8 it is a lovely phone, sleek, powerful and fast, good quality camera and very good looking phone. Zero, yes zero issue with phone after using it for almost 9 months! Only bump up the spec (with 8 GB RAM and 512 GB internal storage). Add extra features if possible such as on-screen or side touch ID (I hate rear touch ID, I have never used it!) and may be on air wireless charging!

No fugly notch, awesome! Mostly keen to see what Bixby 2.0 offers. Really loving my Note 8 (first ever Samsung Smartphone) and I plan on keeping it till the Note 13 unless something much more useful materializes.

Fast, lovely to look at, great modern build of TouchWhiz. Fast sharp camera, wireless charging of course. Just case it in a nice Spiggen slim shell case. Yup, be nice if the fingerprint reader was centred and it had stereo speakers, but playing music through your phone is unsociable (I use Bose QC 35s with my Note and the compo is perfect) and I rarely need the fingerprint ID because the eye recognition and Trusted Devices does the work most of the time.

Anonymous, 28 May 2018Samsung are liars. Thats right, 100% liars. They promised u... moreThere is a Samsung foldable coming, the Galaxy 'X', but they are being sensible, as Apple did with their X, and releasing two (three?) phones, one regular one (equiv to iPhone 8) and a bleeding edge model, just as they released the Galaxy 6 and 6 Edge, so people could choose. (Popularity of the Edge lead them to continue the curvy shape with the 7.) IE, there will be the Galaxy 9, Note9 and X, or X9 or whatever they call it.
There are a number of technical issues with foldable displays/phones, from reliability of the mechanism, to what to do with the other components (battery etc) so it's still slim and so on.
So, the Galaxy X will be an early adopter device, like the Edge/Note 1. If it flies, they will iron out the wrinkles and launch an 'X9 2/Plus'. Or whatever. Init.

Anonymous, 28 May 2018Samsung are liars. Thats right, 100% liars. They promised u... moreThey have clearly stated that the bendable phone is not ready yet.
Sure you can fold that OLED screen once, twice, three times and even 30 times, But eventually, pixels won't re-accommodate and recover from bending.
So.. Currently. There is no way on earth to make a long lasting bendable/foldable phone.

So hypothetically...it would make more sense to just get a Note 8 and wait for next year's note? Is that what I'm reading?

Samsung are liars. Thats right, 100% liars. They promised us the foldable phone at CES 2013, and made it look like this was a product in development and soon ready for the market(I would say they gave a general impression that the foldable style phone was about 1 year away, they implied it, even if it was not in words) And now they recycle old design. Shame on Samsung, shame on they I say.

Not Happy, 28 May 2018No. I am not happy. Make it flat and give a proper notch.Same!
This is nearly perfect, but it's time to give up the curved edges I think.
I find them less professional-looking, especially since the Note lineup is made mostly for professionals and do professional tasks on a smartphone.
Leave the back to be curved while keep the front completely flat.
It also looks way better to me.
Better yet, they offer two variants like they did in the past; one curved and one flat screen glass on the front, and cut nothing on either, even with the same price.
This is why, up to this day, I still think the Note 5 was the real premium professional Note they have made.
