T-Mobile Galaxy S II to have a 1.5Ghz dual-core Qualcomm CPU

14 September, 2011
The chipset will offer a bit less in terms of processing power, but speedier network data.

Anonymous, 15 Sep 2011I hope tmobile announces a release date soon which is not i... moreYeah, I'm tired of the waiting game, too. I ditched my Sensation in July. Why must the T-Mobile version be 'rumored' for late Oct? Kinda anti-climactic when Sammie keeps mentioning new flagships (Note, Nexus). If they keep me waiting too long, I'll punish Sammie and go for iPhone 5

Yay. A smidgit faster in the CPU for and increase in network speed when the speed the exynos can handle isn't realty here yet. Plus the exynos already comes in 1.4ghz and can be clocked higher. Yet a tiny boost in CPU and a humongous drastic cut in gpu......sad

HI there, 14 Sep 2011Err i would get the 1.2ghz because of the gpu in the next c... moretheres no such thing as plain android, gingerbread isnt plain android, nor is froyo ect. icecream sandwhich is just another version of the same thing so if it needs higher than 1ghz single than your arguement makes no sense, android lags at times its a simple as that, its not that its a bad OS but it could do better at managing itself..

                Looks like I was wrong.
I wonder if any phone company will allow you to have a connection faster than 21 mbps - max of original Galaxy S II chipset. And why would anyone want it in a phone? I'm perfectly happy with my 5mbps connection, and it was so since my internet became 2mbps... Its more than enough for surfing and playing games.

PERFECT - twice the network speed and a negligible & barely noticeable diff in processor performance. I prefer to have a MUCH faster network speed as long as the processor is still fast

Err i would get the 1.2ghz because of the gpu in the next couple of years or so gpu will be required for alot of games. andorid only really need 1ghz single core im talking about plain andorid not touchtiz or etc
ice cream sandwitch with really make the most uses of dual core

Very good phone! 1.5Ghz dual-core? amazing. But it is unfortunate that the GPU is not as good as the Exynos.

Hmmm. Nice to know that but HTC sensation XE clocks 1.5GHz dual core from the start itself but still its excellent for samsung galaxy S2. Go rock and take a bite out of apple.

Anonymous, 14 Sep 2011yeah and this will probably can be clocked to 2.0GHz safely... moreConsidering the qualcomm is already an overclocked chipset, i really doubt it can be clocked much higher than it is right now, in a safe way.

They put in a CPU with a higher clock speed which isn't gonna run as well as the original 1.2? Am i reading this right!?

Who needs 42MBit data connection on a smartphone? Most people dont even have a home broadband connection faster than 16MBit...
