HTC has a lot ARMv7 smartphones Samsung has only two SGS & SGSII. Maybe only Motorola can be compared with experience of HTC, but quality there is lower.

The problem I have with HTC is they just seem to release phones which are marginally different from each other in terms of specs. Using GSMArena's advanced search, searching for HTC+Android+5 Megapixel camera returns 46 models! Even HTC+Android+8 Megapixel returns 17 models. Now I know some of these models are region specific but even still, they are all a bit too similar to me, especially as the designs are very formulaic too.

Anonymous, 16 Sep 2011Yes, I do absolutely agree. Photo quality of Sony are not g... moreLol yeah. I mean if you look at the photo comparsion tool here at GSMArena and take X10 and Arc you see X10 samples looking better and sharper. I mean, that's just sad.
            Check it out: http://www.gsmarena.com/piccmp.php3?idType=3&idPhone1=2964&idPhone2=3619&idPhone3=3734
Just look on the purple flower for example, see how blurry it is on the Arc and on the X10 it's sharper and more defined.
Overall why does it seem asking too much for a one Android cameraphone? I don't care much about the design or it being bulky. We'll see what comes out of Xperia Duo or Motorola Dinara, those are only two hopes I have atm.

Dude what is with the comments above they are just so backwards. no amoled because of small lifespan , slcd is the best choice unless you want to see the phones pixels with pen tile matrix. its obvious slcd is the best choice for longevity. ive had a galaxy s for a wile now and guess what SCREEN BURNS GALORE, reboot the phone what do i see, blobs of grey everywhere and the charging icon burned into my screen. and its got a huge resolution its a big big win.

Anonymous, 15 Sep 2011If HTC wants to compete, then they need a phone with 4.5&qu... moreMaybe everyone does not want 4,5" ?

For me, I think I will buy a 4,3" because all high-end devices have at least 4,3"...but the best for me would be a high-end 4" device.

The design and screen of Nokia N9 is the best compromise for...sadly it will not be sold in France, there will be few few applications, and I want to keep my phone for a while...so 1ghz will not be enough to keep it 2 years.

But why is there no manufacturer to have a real high-end device with a beautiful 4" screen ? I don't want to have a piece of white bread in my pocket...4,3" is my extrem limit...and I'm not happy to be forced to have it. So 4,5"...

PS : in fact, the best would be an Atrix-like phone, but more powerful, with a lapdock that makes the phone a real computer. Then, we could have a 4" phone for mobility, and the lapdock for home/when needed in mobility. Maybe with Windows 8 ?

Photo quality of Sony are not good nowadays, unlike in the past! Not even their camera quality is any good. In low light condition, their phone come out bright, but in normal condition, they come out too bright, which is un-natural and looked ovr explosure. Their camera photo came out with orange color taking night shots.

I mean when it comes to Android I've seen it reach from 1 ghz xperia x10, to better htc phones with new 1 ghz processors, then lg with tegra 2, than htc with dual core snapdragons and finally the all migthy SGS2 and in the end it's 1.5 ghz Lte version. So what was the one thing that stayed almost the same, the camera! And I don't mean the video, but photos ofc. Doesn't it make sense when upgrading video standard from 720p to full HD, to upgrade the photo camera too. If Nokia could do it with N8, then I see no reason why Samsung couldn't make one camera oriented smartphone too. I mean everything on smartphones improved over the last two years, so should the camera quality.

In fact, as the processor clockspeed increases, the camera pixel increases as well. It's just that they are not focusing with the camera, because smartphone cameras are not meant to shoot professionally (like what you're dreaming of), they are built to capture precious memories in an average acceptable quality.

If you di... moreI've seen it, but as far as I know the Exmor R just provides better pictures in low light conditions, nothing else. Take a look at the gsmarena photo comparsion tool and you won't see any difference in photo quality compared to Xperia X10.

                                  http://www.gsmarena.com/piccmp.php3?idType=3&idPhone1=2964&idPhone2=3619&idPhone3=3734

The best comparsion can be made with the purple flower with yellow inside. If you look at the picture on both phones, you can clearly see how much more sharper the photo is on X10. So sorry if I'm not impressed with Arc's camera quality, because pictures clearly say it all.

Of course most people will just surely look at the numbers like 1Ghz, 1.2Ghz, 1.5Ghz and so on, but what people don't know that HTC chipset (Qualcomm Snapdragon)is far imperior to others such as Exynos.

                                      Wrong!

Have you ever heard about the SE ARC? If you did than you should've known that it didn't win the best camera phone for nothing! I really find SE the only company that still makes smart phones provided with great camera quality.

Hence: the amazing exmor R technology from Sony, that's implemented in all their high end droids.

We need better cameras on smartphones not an endless race of who has a faster CPU or a better screen. Can there be at least one high end Android phone with a camera like Nokia N8, an Android cameraphone? I mean I would rather take a single core Galaxy S2 with a camera like that, than a dual core with average camera compared to N8 or any digital camera. I mean smartphones are supposed to be the phones that have it all, so why is everyone forgeting about camera on them and finaly move on from boring 8 mpx cameras, give us something real goddamit!
