Jeff, 19 Sep 2011just to be honest, who needs this kind of processing power ... moreI think youre right that.. I simply see no need as well. Its just crazy now. Infact Moore's Law doesnt even apply today anymore. Chipset power is doubling theoretically every six months now. The only thing i might possibly ever use that sort of power on a phone would probably be for gaming. CPU intensive emulators probably. And maybe VMWARE mobile applications. But for now... 1Ghz is definitely enough.

AnonD-252, 19 Sep 2011S2 does not have any problems with overheating, just upgrad... moreMy opinion on heating is based on the mobile owner post here at gsmarena also to my brother who currently own an S II. And i think samsung also has a disclaimer with regards to the unit may heat up depending on the apps your using. You may check the owner post to check that i'm not making this up. Also i didn't say "overheating", i just post "heating issue" which my intention was that the unit may heat up depending on what apps your using.

shame that i've already bought mmedia dock charger, wont fit the new 2000mah battery & cover..
i will upgrade to sgs3 only after they release the upgraded batt.

Thats impossible. A quad core 2 ghz CPU ?? Quad core chips have just come out by Nvidia and I do not think they are available with a 1ghz clock rate. Besides a 10 mpx camera shooting videos 720p videos at 60 fps?? How the hell did we get above 30 fps and that too by such a large number !!

Cool - Apple is already playing Catch Up to S II.
With these specs, Samsung might as well throw law suits at Apple, if they try out anything simillar to what Samsung is offering ...
And If it is a direct shoot out between S III and I5 - it will be S III all the way. ( Remember, SII was cheaper than I4 and power packed and better too ).

AnonD-2663, 19 Sep 2011LOL @ the idiots claiming 2 day battery life from their SGS... more 4-5 hours, really? That tells me you have never used an android device. Probably an apple fanboy yourself. Get over it man, your device is inferior. Plus just because you are a member of the "work" force doesn't mean you use your phone more.

Jeff, 19 Sep 2011just to be honest, who needs this kind of processing power ... moreIn addition to more than 1 Ghz. I think a quad core processor phone should have a fan and heat sink as well. Due to S II owners are having a heating issue depending on the application they are using. I know it may sound crazy putting a fan and heat sink on a phone but having a quad core most likely will cause your phone to heat up. Of course if you own a mobile phone like this, you would maximize its capability otherwise if not, just settle for a lesser phone that suites your need as well.
