You can't get any higher than that. It ends right there. In case of mid-range you can go both higher and lower, it doesn't end there. That's why it's called mid-range and not mid-end.

The problem is GP... moreIf u compare the differences of a mid-end chipset with a high-end chipset, one big difference is the underwhelming power of the mid-end chipset's GPU. If u compare in benchmarks like AnTuTu 7, u will realize that usually the high-end chipsets' GPU is either on par or better than the CPU, whereas the mid-end chipsets' GPU don't even come close to the CPU; it is a few times below the CPU. While current mid-end and high-end chipsets have fixed the serious overheat issues of past generation chipsets, allowing them to run longer with overheating and throttling, the big problem still lies on the GPU of mid-end chipsets...

That's why flagships, even 2 years old ones, are way ahead in GPU and video recording capabilities over modern mid-range devices.

Mobile GPUs and their drivers are pretty limited, and lack many features taken for granted by the developers in comparison to desktop GPUs. GPU in the Tegra X1 on the other hand is based on Maxwell and supports desktop level APIs. Even some features seen in Pascal for eg. the ability to fuse & run 2 FP16 operations simultaneously on a single FP32 core, first appeared in Tegra X1. Plus, Nvidia is known for their excellent drivers.

I prefer flagships because of better built, better screen, more security updates, camera and audio..
CPU is not important to me, even the Qualcomm 625 or Mediatek P20 ..
So if the CPU is octa core 4 x 1.7 + 4 x 2.2, they could offer a mode you can choose for example to set 4 x 1.55 + 4 x 2.0 , 4 x 1.45 + 4 x 1.85 or even 8 x 1.55

But I still don't understand why Google didn't implement those options into the settings when it's easily done.
It can be like: settings>battery>CPU Max
And you get an options like 100%, 75%, 50% etc

when speed is fast enought (SD 820 and up) or A10 and up... i think you should look for other things also...screen quality, sound, camera, size, screen/body racio, quality of the sensors used on your device, etc.
When you buy a car you only look at it's top speed?

Would be better if X Mode locks all cores at maximum yes it would generate heat but AeroActive cooler is there to solve that problem and also disable everything in background excpet calls and messages to give games even more power that much oower would be perfect for........ CoC?
Oops I forgot currently there are no games to take full advantages of this except maybe emulator games

in antutu benchmark scores 304k and it is said that it is a lie, there is not even a youtuber doing the benchmark at the moment, we would have to see how much it is worth, better phones are going to come out (7nm chipset) and I do not think it is much better than the current ones , the game is the same and the operating system is the same

Apple's designs are fast but not particularly low power, resulting in high benchmark performance but not necessarily high sustained performance. Asus have addressed throttling with better cooling than the Apple designs will have, at the expense of bulk.

Interesting phone. I really like it and make me doubt if add it to my colletion. Waiting for the price and availability.

it's nice and all but we need more titles. it doesn't necessarily need to be exclusive video games, but AAA title certainly help. besides, SD845 are stronger than X1 that found in Switch, so I'd expect more good games this year or next year
