I think it's a matter of taste.
With more and more users acceptingthe iOS-like huawei and xiaomi's ui (other brands also exist), Google probably chose to test whether a larger user base would accept that look or not *shrug*
To me, UI is of little importance, as long as I can call, text and use my apps, anything will do.

H-1, 14 Jun 2018Making UI enhancements to make it easier and cleaner isn't ... moreI don't have anything against copying enhancements. However MD2 is neither easier nor cleaner than MD. The one thing it excels it is looking like iOS.
It's still a sleek and modern design, don't get me wrong. Beats Holo or iOS 6 on any day. But it's nowhere as good as Material Design.

iOS also copied some android elements before. In my opinion, users win either way.
I highly doubt apple will implement a usb-c port inside the phone, probably a lighting port with a lighting cable and a lightning to usb-c dongle, a usb-c to usb-a dongle, and a usb-c to 3.5mm dongle. That's, naturally with the already existing lighting dongles.

Very misleading title.
Anyway, Apple is nowhere near to get rid of the Lightning. Without talking about the quality of the port (and its pros and cons), it just bring Apple way too much money.

Apple dont forget to patent USB-C like your own and force all to the courts for stealing your technology :-)
Last year they copied amoled, face scanner from Samsung and stereo speakers dolby atmos from Lenovo and the Notch from Essential phone.
Year before with Iphone 7 they took IP protection froim Samsung every year they copy something and present as their own.
I assume this year they will copy tripple camers setup from Huawei maybe borrow a Leica even borrow a Gal Gadot for their Marketing :-)
But people always love crapple :-)
