18 June 2018
The device's design looks broadly similar to ZTE's Axon M from last year.

Due to the fact by that arc of having Edge and flat options. Quite a lot of people bought the edge variant (it also had a slightly bigger battery: S6 Gen had 2600 for edge over 2550, and 3.6Ah over 3Ah for 7Edge over 7)
So as a company. Samsung saw that edge was more successful than flat, thus they killed flat edition of S8.
If by the same arc the FLAT edition sold more. Then the S8 and S9 families were flat.

This is the first good think samsung made.
Now get rid of that ugly curved screen design and all will be fine and join the project treble.

By taking existing stuff, and tapping them together to see what could be done. (That's literrally how Nintendo started the design idea of the WiiU for instance.)
You must be delusionnal if you think that this was ever supposed to be the final product, and not one of the many prototypes.

LG Superfan, 18 Jun 2018Do you know how pixel camera's HDR+ works? Not that good in explaining. And I don't wanna brag so; Maybe?
I can explain how generic HDR algorithm works:
While talking a Highly Dynamic Range, your camera simply takes a succession of 3 images, (usually in as small window as 1ms) as the three images are thransported to the Microcontroller that sits beside the CPU that's called ISP, The code analyses which parts are "best taken", as in least grainy, sharpest, etc. The "best" parts are assembled in a collage to one single image, and then sent to the DPU (Display Processing Unit) for you to see.
As far as I know each company uses slightly different analysis. "Standards", And so on.

So much hate towards a device that looks dated XD
Obviously Samsung scrapped this because it looked like two phones cheaply glued. They might've just stuck them with transparent tape and linked the screens wirelessly.

With the advent of edge-to-edge displays this should be rectified.

This is by no means to defend Samsung, but to make it clear to those bashing an old device.

At least the display was somewhat protected by folding IN, instead of OUT like on the ZTE.
I'd prefer a 5" screen with a flexible PULL OUT screen, like a wall map.
