Neither Nokia nor Samsung created AMOLED. Organic LED technology was first created and patented by Lockheed Martin in late 80s to be used as displays in next generation fighter jets. It was invented so the analog gages could be replaced by multi purpose digital displays that could be viewed in direct sunlight. It was first used in F-14B Tomcat and later in F-16 and F-18s. Around the same time The Soviets developed a similar technology for MIG -27 and 29. It was adapted by smartphone manufacturers decades later.

Looks stunning. Glad that Motorola is finally paying a bit more attention to design. Hasn't really been an attractive motorola phone since their Razor line. Looking forward to seeing it.

Comes well timed with Google Android 3.0.
I think it will be a top seller for Motorola in US.
Too bad google is not as focused on the rest of the world markets.

The newer ones use Super Amoled Plus, but even Super Amoled destroys any LCD, except for a tiny amount of some Lcd's having a couple features better(amoled still being better in the overall)

Artemis, 26 Sep 2011Look! The edges! Looks familiar? Go Nokia! Sue 'em... lol!!!haha. I admit, when I saw this I immediately thought of the N8/X7/E7.
I honestly wonder if Nokia would be that defensive with it though.

nice specs, but i'm affraid that it will be 5,000 units manufactured and sold around the world. for example, Atrix is totally absend in my region. Milestone2 (droid2) - the same.
