AnonD-327936, 20 Jun 2018I'm happy I use a 3rd party app to access Messenger. No ads... moreThe web version has no ads as well but sometimes they make you download the app version so I installed a 3rd party version as well.

Anonymous, 20 Jun 2018Only time till whatsapp gets ads. Whatsapp is bought by facebook. It doesn't really matter. I don't even use the Official Whatsapp. I've been using Whatsapp Plus for years now (Check it on Google) and its by far better than the original Whatsapp. It's loaded with many features that aren't there on the official app.

It's at time to ditch that facebook-nonsense. Its not enough to sell data (indirectly) and offering ways to collect data via 3rd party apps - now we have to watch vid-ads in a chat program? No thank you.

Unfortunately everyone I know uses Facebook which makes it hard for me to ditch it even though I rarely use it myself. It's become necessary for me to keep it in case I need to contact someone...
Maybe I'll just leave it on my tablet or something...

MsZero, 20 Jun 2018Yeah you right, but is practically my only way to communica... moreWhatsApp is using a phone number to connect, so you can sms your contact or simply just call it. Do you have the phone number of every single Facebook friend of yours?

I'm happy I use a 3rd party app to access Messenger. No ads, no bloatware! I'll continue to do so :)

I am sure there are apps similar to whatsapp that can do the same thing. Whatsapp is popular because it was one of the first.
The likes of Wechat can do the same. If my friends/family moved to another app, I would be extremely happy to dump Whatsapp too!

Aslipundit, 20 Jun 2018Pathetic to be honest. Never regretted deleting FB messenge... moreZuckerberg is a scum which even you admit,so is it still advisable to use WhatsApp?
Considering Facebook owns whatsapp, how long do you think before some other major scandal is brought to the open.
BTW is there any good alternative to Whatsapp or we need to go back to sms.

Fishbook is trash nowadays, especially SUCKERBERG is now collecting everyone's privacy and sell it to make money.

Pathetic to be honest. Never regretted deleting FB messenger and the main FB app from my phone this year. Bloated crapware and a memory hog. With the likes of whatsapp available, no reason to use FB messenger to stay in touch.
I have a special loathing reserved for websites and apps that automatically start playing A/V content in an obnoxious manner. Bye bye fb.
