21 June 2018
Samsung is preparing a semi-modular full-screen smartphone too, just like Huawei.

Am I the only one who thinks companies are racing to make phones more fragile?
I'd snap a plastic magnetic strip over that edge for protection.

Give me a stainless steel body coated with rubber on the inside and that's a worthy flagship to me.

Luxor, 22 Jun 2018Well, you are very wrong. Sammy files the patent on August ... moreThis is not a great idea, patent cost you more money with a slightly improvement. I have another concept and it is exactly better than Samsung concept, I wish Sony can do it not Samsung.

Looks great but how about the price? It must be more expensive than the s9 or iphone X...

Typycal Scamsung first they tryied to copy Kryocera and their foldable phones and then they abandon the project now their ugly infinity design its just not enough they want more so they coppy Oppo X with 93% screen to body ratio.
And again i bet they will abandon the project just because it will cost too much to research and wouldnt be possible to make it with current technology levels.
So again typical Samsung trying to make everything spending billions on research and developement of something which is just yet not possible to be maked but this try and false setup will bring nothing else just a much higher prices in their other devices.

This is actually quite clever! What they are doing is allowing you to remove an edge that has been damaged and snap on a new one, without having to buy a whole new case. It also means you could choose how the volume and other controls were laid out. IE, you may prefer them on the left, not the right, and perhaps have the Bixby button on the top - or not at all!
(I'm assuming this is what the patent is about.)
Am an inventor and had not though of that, so kudos to Samsung for coming up with something pretty innovative ahead of LG, Moto, Apple etc.
                        I'm in!

If Apple can make half a billion on "patenting" rounded corners, Samsung can make the same on patenting the frame. Look out, galleries! You're about to go bankrupt!
