"Still, we can easily see the Snapdragon 1000, or a similar chip making its way into a future Intel NUC."
Yes, and I can easily see an Apple chip in a Samsung device... who writes this nonsense?

Snapdragon is the best for smartphones. Intel is the best for PC.

Though they may come in different prices, like tablet+S845 for about 400, andromeda+S1000 for 1000(example).
Sure its not laptop like, far from desktop or even xbox performance. Still you will have desktop OS with all its capabilities but mobile. For more power there will be cloud computing and play anywhere. Maybe not so soon, but thats where you can expect your favourite ultra settings. Of course is impossible to expect small device to compete with less mobile, bigger devices without any help.

Heard this news before. Not very excited to see Qualcomm powered devices by Microsoft. They should really polish their concept real good before releasing it to public. Give me something concrete.

Falkor is much more power efficient regarding it's performance levels than anything Intel has. The A76 will be more efficient than Falkor while having similar (or little better) performance. The S1000 will have max power consumption of 6.5W on CPU side and max 12W (CPU, GPU, NNPU, DSP... all combined). Intel DTP is for typical average power consumption which those chips especially in the heavy usage go much higher.

ZloiYuri, 24 Jun 201812 watts is a flop. Intel has more powerful processors with... morenope. Intel Atom solutions while rated at 6W TDP actually draws much more power because it didn't count iGPU power draw. Meanwhile, Qualcomm offering are already taken iGPU power draw into account, with Adreno's being much more stronger than Intel HD

"How do you think this new ARM development branch is going to pan out? "
Well, knowing M$ track record, it will take years before they could actually make it stable and release the final product to the market. By then, Android and iOS would have excelled more in the mobile space while intel and AMD will bring in more chipsets at par with mobile (but will still lack mobility for GPU though).
Are you excited to see Qualcomm chips in mode devices?
Yes, but it will die down eventually as it takes them a loooooooooooong time to develop and stabilize this.

12 watts is a flop. Intel has more powerful processors with lower TDP.
And please, M$, do what you do the best - business software. Stop do crap and push it to average customers.
