It was a design flaw made the electrodes prone to bending. This could lead to a separation and short-circuit in the battery itself, and was responsible for causing the batches to explode, direct from samsung!

I love what Samsung and Apple do, they produce the best smartphones around no doubt (a part from battery life), but seriously nowadays the price of their smartphones have just become insane, no one should never spend that much money for smartphones with so mediocre battery life.
The only way the Galaxy Note 8 or IPhone X can justify their over 1000$ price tag is if their battery can last at least 3days on average use

Anonymous, 26 Jun 2018What does the battery capacity have to do with incidents? Al... moreIn the case of Note 7's Debacle the battery didn't have enough space for expanding and shrinkage, something natural that happens to EVERY battery. It had less than 0.1mm space to move. Hence exploding. TO THAT I call "incident." That's why the note FE came out with a slightly smaller batt (3200 vs 3500 in 7)

I will buy it only if there will be 4k + new gear vr without screen door effect(Netflix + movies+3d) or lapdock(project Linda style)

Well, although currently everything is pointing to just a simple incremental upgrade (fingerprint location, etc.). Let's hope that finally it will turn out to be on the contrary (overall), and that Samsung will follow/be inspired by the Oppo Find X and vivo NEX S/A, etc. We'll see...

All of the batteries subject to true heavy use will have the phone spending its life tethered to a wall or to something larger than it.

And manufacturing defects, if there are any on the phone or battery or both, will cause any battery to blow up.

Best phone with thankfully NO notch.. God bless samsung

Well, this kind of news happen since like....Note 3 or 4? it will be released early as they said all the time and the Note line up still shows up as usual time, neither early nor late! Seems like they are not gonna fed up with their own tricks anytime soon! sigh

Samsung loves to release early, but I hope it doesn't disappoint the Note lovers though.

Yeah, you convinced yourself your phone wins. Tell them they have poor brain and life just to make yourself feels better. Does that theraphy working for you? Usually we dont talk about our phone in full details and bragging what it can do compare to other flagship phone, because we know and can think for ourselves without caring what other people think. You should do that to. : )

Some people like the added versatility of the Note, some need simplicity a la IPhone. Some people need DeX and Screen Sharing from both Huawei and Sam. I do agree that the V10 is a fantastic phone, but sometimes, to evolve the smartphone industry, you need to take away some features.
