Syn, 26 Jun 2018I am talking abt physical body dimensions. Ofcse the screen... morewell you can compare the physical dimension of mi max and mi max 3
it's all indicated in the specification, then just do a simple multiplication
for the L and W the answer will be the area, the higher the area the bigger the device
then decide for yourself which is bigger
don't need to argue w/ that

Luxor, 26 Jun 2018So, everyone not done arguing about the size? Here my opini... moreyeah..,
argument whether it's a phone, phablet or tablet is useless
device that can be use to make call is a phone
and for those guys who wants big screen will not be stop
to buy this PHONE, even this is a tablet or whatever they want to call it

decided to sell my mi max prime for this one
but it's still on its prime even though it's a year and a half
resell won't cut it or even i sold it w/ the same price i bought it
for me it's value is still more than that, got it w/ a good deal
so just decided to just give it to my mom..,

I don't need the Pro, just the normal one is good enough to replace the aging Galaxy Mega 6.3 I have as small tablet. Especially when it's so competitively priced like the Mi Max 2! I am waiting for this Mi Max 3, hope it will be announced soon. Next month if I'm right.

So, everyone not done arguing about the size? Here my opinion. Its a both a tablet and a phone. Xiaomi can call it anything they want. Asus for example had a tablet sized at 6.9". Big screen is not exactly a new thing. Dont know why you guys so hyped about it.

Asus also released Zenfone 3 Ultra phone in 2016, remember that 6.8 incher, anyone? Sony Ultra series has been doing it since 2013. Look at Xperia Z Ultra with 6.4" screen. Remember your all time favourite brand Samsung, they got 6.3" Galaxy Mega. Suddenly people forgot the monstrous Huawei P8Max with 6.8" display back in 2015. Need more example from the past? Google it. Need something recent? Ulefone T2 Pro 6.7" 19:9 with a notch on 2018. There. Done.

Just wanna say that your arguments are all useless. This phone going to release regardless. Labelling it as a phone, phablet or tablet not going to change anything. If the manufacturer says it is a tablet it is a tablet. If they said it is a phone then it is a phone. Like that 6.9inch tablet from Asus I just said. Definition changes depends on whatever the tech world wants it to be. Just my personal opinion. Dont get triggered. Bye.

Syn, 26 Jun 2018U high? I was comparing this to the first gen Mi Max which ... moreActual screen size comparison:

                  Mi Max: 114.3 cm2 (6.44 inches, 16:9 ratio)
                  Mi Max 2: 114.3 cm2 (6.44 inches, 16:9 ratio)
                  Mi Max 3: 122.9 cm2 (6.9 inches, 18:9 ratio)
                  Huawei Honor Note 8: 121.2 cm2 (6.6 inches, 16:9 ratio)
                  Lenovo Phab2 Pro: 112.9 cm2 (6.4 inches, 16:9 ratio)

Source: gsmarena. You can use online calc to verify (I did) or do the math yourself. Or just look at the pictures and use common sense. Mi Max 3 is going to have the biggest screen of the pack.

I was comparing this to the first gen Mi Max which was a 6.4 inch phone with 16:9 ratio and pretty decently sized bezels. If this one is 18:9 with narrow bezels then it will be of the same actual size as that of the first gen Max...

zillion, 26 Jun 2018R u sure? I thought that 18:9 display.. Well only because it's bezelless and rounded corner doesn't mean its ratio is 18:9, duh.

Their new Mi Pad 4 is also bezelless, also rounded corner, rocking 1920 x 1200 resolution, means the (even more) traditional 16:10 ratio.

"Mi max was already a successful device, and this 6.9 inches screen you are talking about is actually smaller than the standard 6.44inch 16:9."

                            No, it's not.

                              Jamesschwarz987, 26 Jun 2018No. See the picture it's 16:9.R u sure? I thought that 18:9 display..

We're reaching the days that 7 inch devices are the new normal.
