Anonymous, 27 Jun 2018Doesn’t this tell you something about iPhones: after 3 year... moreOnly people who are not interested in the technology and just want to show off the apple logo to others have interest in them as even 3 year old models are way costlier than average online buying that hovers around 8 to 15k but still has many newer tech than this crap like fast charging, bezelless display, new software with 3rd party updates available for 2-3 years, portrait mode photography, lots of storage with SD card expansion, better battery life, bigger and higher resolution screen, lots of customization etc

New phones have be... moreI dont know if you follow apple OS updates history or not (judging by your comment you dont), iPhone 5s is getting latest OS 12 after 4+ years of release. So based on that iPhone 6s should get minimum 2 more years of OS updates if not more.
And 6s is available in India for around 35K and similarly priced Android alternatives are OP6, Honor 10, Galaxy S8 and these alternatives too might get maximum of 2 OS updates that too very late after google releases.
I am not saying 6s is best over other choices mentioned above but surely is a very competitive alternative and good choice for people who like iOS and 6s bought new in 2018 should last them next 3-4 years with maybe a battery replacement in between.

I use it as a backup phone, while I use Mate 10 Pro as a main phone, mainly because of battery life.

For those who worry about updates should know that iPhone 5s , released in 2013 will get iOS 12 ( 5 years after it's release). iOS is so optimised that it works well with old phones as well ( other way to look is hardware is optimised for at least 5 years updates).
iPhone 6s will get at least 1 more update, in worst case, after iOS 12. This means it can go on for another 2 years at least. Performance wise iPhones have never been problematic.6s is still 'young' compares to 5s.
This is the reason, though being an old phone, it still costs high.
Indians will buy this for two reasons:
- iPhone performance is uncompromised, though an old system
- affordable price tag ( compared to new iPhones) for such system.
And above all, iPhone is still a status symbol for many Indians. Simple - an iPhone is an iPhone, no other can replace.

You can buy new hardware for same price. New phones have better camera and will get updates for another two or three years. If you buy a 6s, a 2015 model, do you think it will get updates for another two years?

Probably I'm gonna upgrade when s10 will comes out but definitely I don't feel that my phone would be old or outdated. Personally I don't see reason to change phone every year nowadays.

Wow, So apple wants to make phones in India (not to reduce prices) but to increase their profit margins...
I think people are to be blamed , actually, for letting a company sell old tech at competitive prices...2.5 years after its release...
Switched to oneplus this year and couldn't be happier...the price to feature ratio is quite even with oneplus..

Even older Android phones works well, why should all people buy the newest phones when the older cheaper ones are available and work?

For how apple products advance, one has to be dumb to buy them at full price.

This is really surprising to see that the Phones were released back in 2015 are still up in the Production and people still have interest to purchase an old tech...
While none of the 2015 Android Phones are still alive in for production...
