Mithrandir, 29 Jun 2018For me, the fact that the tab S2 and S3 were not at the 16:... moreSame!
The human sight is closer to 16:10.
What is the purpose of a 10 inch if you have 2 huge black bars on top and bottom. Even a 7-8 inch 16:9 tablet looks better.
Yes, 4:3 is better than 16:10 for READING on a smaller tablet. But 16:10 on a 10 inch tablet is brilliant for media consumption, it's very good for reading and excellent for getting things done.
I'm glad Samsung chooses to be different than Apple when it comes to tablets. This will help sell more than if it would be similar to an ipad.

Anonymous, 27 Jun 201816:10 aspect ratio is disappointing. For me, the fact that the tab S2 and S3 were not at the 16:10 ratio but had the same as the iPad was the reason I didn't buy them and stayed with my Tab S until now..
So I'm really glad they got back to that ratio.

Someone, 27 Jun 2018With Snapdragon 845 available I do not understand why they ... moreDevelopment cost. Software was probably already done for the older chipset. and how available is the newer chipset.

Anonymous, 27 Jun 2018I guess, since the 845 is a current year SoC that they use ... moreSound reasons. However, considering the low volumes they expect to sell, it wouldn't make much difference for the S9.

Someone, 27 Jun 2018With Snapdragon 845 available I do not understand why they ... moreI guess, since the 845 is a current year SoC that they use on the galaxy s9 and soon note 9, they don't want to risk creating a short supply and being able to produce more of those 4 devices, so they go for the more available (and cheaper, because there is also that) 835.
No one care about tablet, people have stop buying them for years, to the point that noone but Apple actually make a flagship one. So having one with a last year high-end chip is "good enough" for a lot of enthusiast. Samsung know that, and you bet they will take advantage of the situation

Mr.Xno1, 27 Jun 2018it was on oreo everything was up to date, you know what goo... moreThe UI is fine. You're just nitpicking for the purpose of just hating on the company... Of course you would be sad that your product is worse than what is coming or exists, but you have to face reality.

This might be the best of all time...... As previous ones. Thank you Samsung

Well, although everything, related in general, hopefully it will be a true powerhouse, etc.

I don't get it... last year's chipset and only 4Gb RAM in a tablet that is meant for multi tasking?

Manufacturers have all cut back on making Android tablets because they can't compete with the iPads. However each year the iPad comes out with the latest chipset and specs, as well as some 'budget' models. You need to have a product that's capable of competing if you want to compete!

I have the original Tab S, and at the time it had absolute top of the range specs - fastest chipset, res/screen quality, big battery, slim, light, thin bezels (for the time) - it wasn't perfect but it was pretty awesome. Plus it had the 10.5" screen!
Then they copied the iPad's screen size (which was bad enough), but then put in second rate specs and old chipsets, ignoring the fact that Apple fills theirs with top specs.

                        Come on Samsung.... really??

Mr.Xno1, 27 Jun 2018my room mate had the tab s3 with snapdragon 820 and 4gb ram... moreDepends on your story, is the tab s3 already updated to Oreo or the old Nougat version. Most of tab s3 users claimed that it is much smoother after Oreo update. The original Grace UX is updated and replaced with Samsung Experience 9.0 UI too.
