This statement is wrong, the chinese word is 1699元起, means from CNY1,699, means the price is for the lowest configuration, not as per the picture you see which is the highest configuration.

I hope they improved on the black/grey levels, as I couldn't see sh-t in darker scenes on the Mi Max 2

Xiaomi doesn't first time to... moreWell it's not about the look tho. it's about the picture that came from TENAA had a shorter length, indicating that the screen would be a bezelless 16:9, instead the 18:9 one, just like their Mi Pad 4 which is 16:10.

Redmi note 5 AI almost the same Mi 6x/Mi A2. The little different only antenna lines design. It could be this xiaomi taking the design of Mi 6x but getting the bigger screen. I think that preety reasonable for xiaomi..
