Anonymous, 28 Jun 2018Ha My UNLOCKED Mate 9 is still on EMUI 5, Android 7 and ... moreYeah, my phone is unlocked too. They don't even sell carrier locked phones here. But yes, no idea why they don't update their phones as well as they do here. I've gotten about monthly updates, Oreo arrived back in December las year too. Great updates so far.

Anonymous, 27 Jun 2018Huawei is trash. iPhone wannabe disgusting notch what? "iPhone" notch? the funny thing is, that Essential phone was the first phone with a notch but just because Apple is the best at stealing ideas so Apple becomes famous for stealing the idea of the notch. it is exactly like Smartphone innovation that counts as Apple's innovation, but people forgot that for a long time Blackberry did own the industry but as we all know everything that Apple touches becomes shit, they did touch Blackberry technology and Blackberry is just gone. Apple is growing by destroying others, typical American mind, kill the king to become king.

They carry so many restrictions, not to mention Android phones locked in with carriers often get installed with more bloatware aside from that already pre-installed by the OEM. Whenever possible, buy factory unlocked phones.

PeterThePanda, 28 Jun 2018Lol. Bunch of crap from someone that probably isn't even us... moreI know mate. My friend who is working with me in mobile store is having P10 and also got Face Unlock. But here is the difference, mine is unlocked from network carrier, while his was sim free from day one of sale. I did research and this devices unlocked from network carriers get updates last ones. I got it for cheap so I don't care.

PCGamingGuru, 27 Jun 2018It is Nova 3. Not Nova 3e.Oh yeah. Sorry!

I'm using a P10 right now and already have Face Unlock and already on May security patch. Battery life isn't much different from Nougat and I'd say it is even faster on some operations. I'd still prefer a regular Pixel 2 or an XZ1 or XZ2 Compact had it been officially released in our country.

If you want to go waste your money on useless stuff, go back to Apple then.

My UNLOCKED Mate 9 is still on EMUI 5, Android 7 and the November 2017 security update. When I phoned Huawei UK about it, they said they have no idea when there will be an update, but it will be updated.

If they want to sell more phones, they will have to do FAR better.

I wouldn't call that exactly slow. Got the May update earlier this month too, so two updates this month. The first one brought Face unlock too.

They deserve to sell as much as they expect. They've released some of the best phones this year. Huawei is evolving the smartphones while others are busy with gimmicks. Huawei is the new smartphone leader.

should I start from same design of iPhones since 2007 to 2015 and then from 2015 to 2018? or about the 1-year delay on software update on 800$ Samsung flagship? or most horrible outdated hardware and material and design of LG and Sony? or HTC with almost no international market and crappiest devices since HTC 10? or Let's talk about Google, which still uses 1Camera in their 2018-2019 flagships (my main device is a Pixel 2 XL btw)?

Also I am more friendly with Apple and their OS, because its more fluent than Android. No its not just my device, I did a research with Mate 10 Pro users, there are more people with same issues as I do. But dont worry I will get back to Huawei, eventually. Probably with P20 Pro when the price is right. Cheers.

Try return it to the store and say this problems to them, maybe they will give you another product. If the other one will be the same, then it is a model problem.
Regarding your complaints about software updates (no one is slower than Samsung and LG at updates, had both phones in the past).
Also, heat appearing after playing AAA game for 40 minutes is with every device out there (including Apple). I mean every phone or tablet gets hot. Now, the problem is bigger when the product stops or restarts.
P.S. Try asking around, maybe friends or family who have Huawei devices, before taking immediate steps in changing your device. In my humble opinion, I think Huawei devices are one of the best out there right now.
