fingers crossed, I hope they make the right decision as the Nokia 8 Sirocco is a beautiful phone but a lot of compromises. (ex. sd card slot, 3.5mm jack, 16:9 screen and curve display issues)
i wished they should just copy from the note 8 design cues and make it their own.

If anything, the more and more it's become clear that HMD is a subsidiary collaboration between Nokia and Microsoft but more so Nokia. FOXCONN simply produces their devices in a factory that belonged to Nokia/Microsoft and was given to them (FOXCONN) as part of a deal to produce the HMD devices.

Rewind to the beginning of the teardown and you'll notice it's so thin it's actually between the screen and the battery.

Nokia and HMD Global are both headquarted in Finland. Whatever HMD developed under Nokia brand is manufactured by FIH Mobile which is actually a manufacturing facility aka factory. Yes, those factory own by chinese. FOXCONN is chinese company. Many brand around the world is manufactured by FIH Mobile manufacturing facility. Apple, Blackberry, Dell, HP, Huawei, Intel, Motorola, Nintendo, Sony, Toshiba, Xiaomi and many more. They all must be chinese then??

Dude, they have more space to fit a bigger battery if they got rid of the fingerprint scanner. Even if it's an increase of 500 mah, that's still enough to get you a good amount more of battery life. More like 30 minutes

Big loss!... :D The wasted battery for using sensors to activate and deactivate a camera (which I assume is your clever replacement idea?) uses a lot more than those 3 minutes of battery on a normal day.

U r the one who need to READ the articles correctly...
Thinning glass to me UD FPS works with adequate speed is very "high risk"!
Glass is pretty much like ice, thinner it gets, more fragile it will be!
That's the reason why phones with glass back cover are easily broken into pieces,
also the reason why bulletproof glass are quite thick compared to ordinary glass!
Also, I think U need to read the article again CAREFULLY, because u said 2 STUPID things:
"Nokia will make sure it's strength is durable enough for everyday abuse..."
"you'll put on a tempered glass protector anyways"
The reason why it's stupid is:
1) HOW can u believe that the glass will be "durable enough for everyday abuse"? Right, because it's Nokia, a ZOMBIE brand with OVERESTIMATED build quality and brand value, predecessor of "Apple", which is still revered by MILLIONS of sheep who couldn't move on.
2) In the article, it is clearly stated that the reason for thinner glass display because the UD FPS is slow to respond; to be "durable enough for everyday abuse", Nokia calculated that the initial thickness where the UD FPS is slow to respond is needed, so the compromise of make the display glass thinner is a FATAL move...
And do u really think that slapping Tempered glass will "solve" the 'fragile' glass display?
Even adding anti-scratch film might hinder UD FPS to works, let aone Tempered Glass!
Please, don't be smart-a$$ if u can't even read properly!
