Huawei to launch gaming phone this year, foldable device in 2019

It will probably have the Kirin 980, alongside the Mate 11 flagships in November.
And if it does have a Kirin SoC instead of the flagship Snapdragon, it won't do so well in terms of sales/marketing or even performance. For one thing, there are more Android developers using Snapdragon devices than MediaTek, Kirin, Exynos, or Nvidia.
Case in point: compare the performance difference in Nintendo Wii emulation between the QSD 835, Exynos 8895 and the Kirin 970. The Snapdragon blows both out of the water, since the application is far better optimised for it.

Snapdragon 845 is 50% faster in... moreYes snapdragon I agree has much better gpu its unmatched (dont know if gpu turbo actually works so I wont talk about it) but otherwise its on par and it doesnt heats up this problem only exsist in Mate 10 series and IIRC P20 Pro all others (View 10, Honor 10) remain cool and huawei will most likely implement some advanced cooling to keep the SoC cool

Both will destroy Snapdragon 845 in Cpu and Gpu department. Even with current Kirin 970, updated later with that GPU Turbo tech that claimed to be 60% more power, 30% less power (less heat), benchmark suggest it'll be as fast as GPU in latest Snapdragon 845.

Snapdragon 845 is 50% faster in GPU speed compared to Kirin 970. Also Kirin hwats up a lot during longer gaming sessions.

Everyone is promising foldable phones nowadays. I will believe when i see it.
The only one who comes close is zte axon.

hopefully foldable phones will be the upcoming trending device so that a huge cut price will likely gonna happen to mid and high end non foldable device. :D

If Huawei wants to launch a fast gaming phone, they need to one-up or at least match Snapdragon 845 in GPU drawing speed. SD845 is 50% faster in real-life on-screen GPU speed compared to Kirin 970. That is A LOT.

Great, Symmetric design and quality cooling can make a flagship worthy of title Gaming phone. Though not with uninteresting design mist flagship come with, trying to feel neutral. It needs bold, futuristic and aggressive one.

Huawei has only impressed this year (and even last year, the Mate 10s were awesome), so I fully expect them to continue to impress us going forward. Mate 20 could be the perfect phone if they make it like the P20 Pro but without the notch...
