Fingerprint readers were slow to gain popularity, but now they are everywhere. Face scanning is emerging as an alternative, but which do you prefer?

    I chose neither because I think normal fingerprint and under display fingerprint is different. I vote for under display fingerprint scanner.

      I prefer for Multiple Security Unlock. Fingerprint + Face Unlock/Iris Scanner.

          I have a sweaty hands so FPS doesn't work everytime. So i'll go with face scanning...

You have information of them and their numbers. I really get annoyed when people brag about not needing to secure their phone cos they have nothing important, YOUR CONTACTS are important.

They are not, no one gives a crap about your data

                Fingerprint readers. Face scanners are still not as secure, even if 3D like the iPhone. The claim that FaceID is more secure than Fingerprints is plain old BS. Iris scanners are probably the most secure, but they're kind of hard to use in phones.

                Proof that FaceID is not that secure is that identical twins or small children can fool it. On the other hands, even identical twins don't have the same fingerprints.

                    Always-On fingerprint scanners are more convenient. No button to push. Also it feels safer than using my ugly face to unlock an equally ugly notched phone

                      Locking your phone is overrated. I never do, it's inconvenient either way, i just don't leave my phone unsupervised, which makes the most sense.
                      But if i have to, i'd definitely use the fingerprint scanner, face unlock is too impractical and has too many conditions already mentioned (In the dark, from a distance/sitting on the table etc). Just another useless gimmick. Like motorized cameras.

                        I prefer fingerprint scanning instead of both methods because fingerprint scanning already convenience not need to waste the hardware space and software optimization for face scanning.

                          Even though fingerprint scanner is still best for me, I would use every of the smartphone's unlocking method if available, so that I can use different unlocking methods based on how my smartphone is placed

                            One thing I dont understand...If we have to press a key in 3D face scanning, then what is the point of it? It's equal to fingerprint scanner then.

                              Face scanning still doesn't work with my glasses that has blue filter.. So I vote fingerprint..

                                Face and fingerprint scanning both have their own set of use cases. I prefer having both.

                                      I used to have a Kyocera Hydro lol and it had face unlock.. that was about 5 years ago

                                        Iris Scanner is the best!
                                        Not as fast, but is far more secured than Fingerprint. It's still nearly as fast nonetheless. Facial Recognition is unreliable for those with twins. With Iris, yours is yours, mine is mine; no one has the same iris features as you do.
