T-Mobile LG G6 starts getting Oreo update

        Hi guys, I got my upgrade about 2 weeks ago and so far:
        - Battery life is slightly lower
        - Performance is much much smoother
        - Camera quality is similar, but it missed out on the extra features of the LG V30

        ....so its great overall, it also came with a security update for my October 2017 Level bumping it up to May 2018 which is a shame.

        What I would like?
        I'd like to decompress this ROM on my PC, and modify the base to make it as close to stock as possible. Perhaps I could take assets and modify it into a Custom Rom like LineageOS, RessurectionRemix, or OmniROM. I can even patch it so its running the latest Android 8.1.1 instead. However, its not possible because the bootloader is locked and I can't even get r00t access.

          Grats LG like Lost Genius.
          Giving oreo to a phone which has been released march 2017 when oreo is available from like summer last year.
          Well done LG. Company known for a plenty of jokes.

                      LG V20 is first device comes with Android 7. even after two years there no sign of Android 8 Oreo in India. what LG..??? that is what you loose customers.

                        I wonder how smoothly this will run. I wonder how simplistic it will be access hi res bluetooth codecs.
