First big Apple announcement without Steve Jobs, and it's already a disappointment. I think it went wrong with the screen size, 3.5 inches just aren't enough these days. Also, no LTE, and even though the voice control is amazing, it won't have much real world use. Talking to your phone is still weird, it's not something people will want to do. As for the camera, we're still better off with any point-and-shoot.
Apple just gave way to the competition.

i would still buy an iphone 4 save my money & use the new IOS 5.
bad call from apple launching the iPhone 4 s, they have given the chance for Androids, Windows & even nokia to grab market share in the upcoming holidays season

So the apple new double antena thing or whatever...
This is just a noob workaround their main issue. Main issue with their antena was loss of signal (even after soft updates) so they basicly added another receiver so they can compensate for the loss of signal they STILL didn't solve. Both their antenas put together work as good as a well made 3G antena.
Proof:
SGS2 3G : HSDPA, 21 Mbps; HSUPA, 5.76 Mbps
iPhone 4S: HSDPA, 14.4 Mbps; HSUPA, 5.8 Mbps
Add the new antena they put...and it berally reaches a fully working 3G...way to progress right? "put some patches over a torn pair of jeens and it kinda works"

Nice phone, looks the same though. But the 4S should look the same, because the style is the same as the 4. Apple dropped a lot of dough to develop the 4, so it's reasonable for them to stick with this design. When they do make a 5, it will look different, I think. Also, phones get more and more clever, yet carriers limit data. What sense does this make?

I'm an iphone lover but not blind. Nexus prime should be a much better device. Sorry Apple although u've given the best OS,as IOS 5 but the hardware like a bigger screen & a different design along with the better than HD screen was expected.I am totally frustrated now.JUst bought a SG2 now its WAY better.

Iphone is maybe a great compromize, with feature near the top (not at) in practically every aspects. We are waiting this for Android (that's why I'm very excited with the announcement of the Nexus Prime!).

And I warned you apple fanatics about an impending thundering downfall.Just face it:15 months down the drain, Apple has nothing new to bring to the smartphone market! Ah, dont tell me about that siri crap when I cannot yet again tune into my favourite FM station or transfer a bloody track via bluetooth. Yeah, it may be Bluetooth 4.0 but it is USELESS! SD Card slot? Sorry boys, may be next time! A bigger screen with more advanced tech than Retina? IN YOUR WILDEST DREAMS!! SLIM form-factor? Ah let's consult the SGII first... All of this for that??? still the same small screen whereas HTC or Samsung have better 4,3 inches, wait a bit for Nokia's Ace which will become the new reference...

The Nokia N8's 12MP camera is better than the iPhone 4S's 8MP camera. And the aluminium body of the N8 is much more durable and scratch-resistant than the iPhone 4S's fragile stainless and glass surface.

Apple's never going the AMOLED route since Samsung is the only AMOLED manufacturer. And their IPS LCD display is better than AMOLED. And to the one who says iOS is a crap OS, well here's the tea. Most tech experts deem iOS as the best mobile OS right now. The hardware is very much optimized to the software. Android is a poor man's iOS.

For all those people who had an iphone 4 already, yes this is a disappointment, same phone with better specs. But for everyone like me who got a 3gs on 2 year contract and didnt want to fork out for the 4 upgrade (in my opinion 4 wasnt enough of an upgrade from 3gs, 5mp shooter and 200mHZ more power...) now they have a beast to upgrade to, 1ghz dual core and dual core GPU and a camera to match everyone else, granted not as good as galaxy s2 but who do all the devs develop for first...iphone, so galaxy s2 wont get anything graphically stunning until iphone specs went up, is there anything on galaxy s2 at the moment that looks as good as infinity blade on my 3gs, let alone a retina enhanced iphone 4 version
short version - iphone 4 owners pissed as not enough of an upgrade, iphone 3gs owners happy as there is a phone worth upgrading to, everyone who has jumped ship to android is laughing because again apple brought out an underspecced phone, hence the reason they jumped ship, and apple loses, except you know it will still sell by the millions so apple wins

When the Americans are enjoying 4G LTE, we in India are crying with 2G speeds (we will will be happy if it was working atleast).
Speed:
Vodafone India: 25-40 Kbps on 2G
Aircel 16-100 Kbps (200Kbps theoretical).
3G networks have coverage for less than 10% of India.
