I beg to disagree. 4000mAh is at least. 500mAh higher than 3500mAh. That's approximately 14% longer battery life. And that 14% is critical for battery longevity. It helps minimize deep discharge levels (< 15% battery left prior to recharging) that shorten the phone's battery life. No Qnovo software app can change that. Fewer charge-discharge cycles due to larger capacity batteries mean longer battery life - with or without Qnovo.

What's the logic of releasing a similar model and call it XZ3, and call the bigger one - which is almost exactly the same but bigger - XZ2 Premium?!
Call it XZ3 Premium!
Or maybe the XZ3 should be called XZ2 Pro.
But don't call 2 models of the same generations with different numbering!

You claim that a company's achievement top-tier quality products and their finesse is because it's rather "cheap and popular"?
Their mobile division is full of incompetents, orthodox jerks which will bring Sony Mobile to cease their operations globally mainly due to steadily losses year after year, lower incomes, more taxes and a fierce competition, the lack of an organised central head-branch in terms of stunts, publicity and marketing, poor to none investments on R&D and exiting pronto from markets all the more (ME recently), add the cuts on personnel, software departaments... never seen up until now a Necxus or Pixel by Sony so; goodbye to Google's $ or establishing a long term contract with Apple providing them LCD's...
HOWEVER... I can't stand people that still believes a product is better for having 2GB more of RAM (wonder if it's a classy south-korean LP DDR-IV at least) 1cm less in bezels, 400/500mha more of a LiPo or Li-Ion (4000mha) that even will last less than on a Sony's one with Qnovo tech (3540mha) and a more efficient 845 SoC; also is Smart Stamina... years ahead and prior to own Android's Doze mode. A cheap AM OLED panel and overall an engeneering design and software experience which is near to cr@p? -
Oooh... But it's better because it has cheated on benchmark tests, cost only €300 (a throw away to the bin in less than 9 months) with gimmicks everywhere (and design-wise it's a rip-off from a rip-off) and sold 100^3K units in China and India overall...

This - 24.1% (negative) market growth for Sony mobile is PROOF enough that buyers are not fools. There's nothing 'PREMIUM' in the Xperia XZ PREMIUM line that makes it worth more than other truly premium flagships from other brands that cost less. Sony really believes its flagship Xperia phones can command premium price. Who are they fooling? Well the buyers have spoken. NEGATIVE 24.1% market growth for Sony mobile. As mentioned, Sony should just give up and sell its phone business like it sold its Vaio line. It will end the hemorrhage. Not very nice to see it dying a slow and painful death becoming irrelevant like windows phones and Blackberrys while Sony fanatics like you still believe it is 'superior' and worth the 'premium' name (Xperia XZ 'premium') and premium price tag. R. I. P. Sony mobile. Better focus on Sony Playstation.

If there's anything from ancient time, its definitely NOT the IR blaster which is still in use in ALL electronic appliances now and in the forseeable future, even 10 years from now. It can control everything from air conditioners, tv's (yes, even smart ones!), amplifiers, receivers, cable tvs boxes, satellite tvs boxes, cd/dvd/blu ray players, your car stereo, media players, karaoke players, home theater systems, etc. And no, I'm not only talking about the P20 Pro. Even the older Mate 9/9pro and Mate 10/10pro have ir blasters and 4000mAh batteries. And yes, many of Xiaomi's phones also have 4000mAh batteries and ir blasters. If there's a phone brand that is going ancient, it's the Sony Xperia line that is becoming extinct like the dinosaurs with - 24.1% market growth. Many chinese companies invent you are just either blind or you never had a real phone.
Just expensive toys made by some japan, korean, or american competitors.
But apart from price everything is roughly same like chinese.
For that i really dont need pay a 1000 eur bucks to call friends send them messagess or type to gsm arena to reply yoy with thoughts you had no idea about.

You own an ancient tube TV too for IR blaster use, I suppose...
Huawei flagship still running on Kirin weaker than even year and a half SD835...meanwhile world has moved to SD845 half a year ago.
Sony has virtual surround sound speakers, Huawei sidekick speakers of no other use than...sound.
Huawei flag nonpremium glass breaks on simple handpressure.
Huawei maybe can compete in lowlight photo in some scenarios, but overall in video and photo....nah, simple imagestacking postprocessing cant compete with dual ISP realtime image processing, in any way.
A front notch design, and back 2,5mm protruding camera? Now I know design ia preferential, but please, tht thng is ugly...
And it costs about 900!?!
while this XZ2 Prem, indeed a Premium made phone, costs a 1000...
All you got to back you up in claims is sales numbers fella. But thats kinnda weakest argument on quality and performance.
Cmmon you people, you can do better, at least try with Xiaomi or OnePlus.

Huawei flagships have large 4000mAh batteries, have IR blaster, have excellent performing cameras and beautiful external designs with very small bezels which NO Sony flagship has. No wonder Huawei is #3 worldwide, next to Samsung and Apple while Sony has close to ZERO % market share. Sony really believes its flagship Xperia phones can command premium price. Well buyers have spoken. They don't deserve the price for the features and quality they offer that's why Sony smartphones are dying. There are lots of other cheaper flagship brands that can be bought for the same price as the Sony flagships and those Sony alternatives have better specs, features, external design/looks/appearance. As mentioned, Sony should just give up and sell its phone business like it sold its Vaio line. It will end the hemorrhage. And man, I continuously print photos from my Xperia phones, and look also at other phones printouts from family and friends...and man, are you wrong on that claim. Man you certain you ever printed out and compared photos from Xperias and some other phones?
And yaa, those chinese cheap phones, man, they only add, but dont invent anything man.
So please man, dont compare some cheap phones with double ISP powered one, as you know man, chips cost...innovation actually costs, much more than adding a Gb, or cheap 12 mpx sensor.
