20 July 2018
This way the company will save on development money and make room for the flexible flagship.

geordie8t1, 22 Jul 2018there should be 3 devices: S10 - 5.8" 1 camera, 3500mAh ... moreHonestly, if your S10 Pro is 6.5 inch, why not just name it Note 10 and avoid confusion?

I mean, think over it, just dropping the "Note" moniker can't help save money, right?
(Unless you're talking about marketing/ advertising expenses.)

So instead of designing 3 phones, their money saving plan is to ...design 3 phones?

Samsung need to be careful with this.

This could easily go wrong. They don't want to be dropping the ball like Apple has already done with the MBP 2018.

The Note Lineup is widely considered to be the absolute best Samsung and Android has to offer. An S pen that nobody can offer, much less rival for accuracy and features. Once famed for its outstanding battery life hopefully the Note 9 will resolve this once and for all. If Samsung can keep working on their software and speed up the updates and security patches, Apple has no leg to stand on.

its not the sharp or round corners itself, its the way they built on note8.

But seriously, do you believe block type sharp design is cheap? Today, I only see rounded rectangles dominating the scene, all cheap to midrange iphone ripoffs.

Sharp corners are also there in Sony, and no doubt it looks premium.

                      My suggestion to Samsung is:-

                      1. Name the 3 flagship phones as S10, S10+ and Note 10, in increasing order of size.

                      2. Make the internals as same as possible. Reduce development costs.

                      3. Release the 3 phones together, and remove the 6 month flagship cycle, make it one year.

                      4. Then price them lower, as development is for one phone basically. I know that space is a constraint and hence, 3 different displays means 3 different phones, but still, internals & UI stuff can be similar....

                      5. The S-Pen should come with Note 10 in box. But it should be usable with S10 and S10+ too.

Anonymous, 20 Jul 2018what you talking about? Note 5 with built in memory only, a... moreI can respect your opinion but what I said is what majority of note4 users are agree with.
Note4 was one solid device with its unique design, expandable storage, removable battery, IR blaster. i'm still using my Note4 (i have spare batteries) and NoteFe which I bought just recently. still I don't like edges on NoteFe.

when Note5 launched I skipped it because it wasn't that good and they removing IR blaster and removable battery was deal breaker for me, then I waited for Note6/7, I was about it buy it as it was good at that year, but Battery problem came, then I waited for Note8, when it launched I didn't liked its proportion and its sharp edges, they looked like out of some low budget device. and its that tall body.

so basically if you are following Note series from early model you'll notice that Note4 was the last actual Note device with functionality wise and design wise.

note8 is nice. if it is wider a bit it could be great. hope after the merge its wider. 7inch with s pen super high end would be good. looking forward to it!

                              Make Note series great again.
                              The true flagship.

But like it is now they can remove Note and give all Samsung S10 a pen

The Note line died after the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 was released. The Note 4 was the last real Note. They used to be cool. No longer. Samsung has decided to cater to regular phone users over phone geeks (like me). That's why I left Samsung after the Note 4. I frankly don't give a hoot what they do with the line now. It's already dead.

The essence of the Note is basically a big screened phone with a stylus and a big battery that will get you through a ton of usage. It's for the user who sees themselves as busier and more important than the casual Galaxy S user.
Size, sleekness, or thickness of the device shouldn't be a concern. In fact, to stay true to itself, the Note SHOULD be bulky.
It also has a more business or productivity appeal than the Galaxy S line.

The problem is Samsung forgot what the Note was supposed to be and should return it to its roots.
