I was on Windows 8.1.. and I stayed.. I had 3 laptops with Windows 10 and they all are giving me a headache.. They are slower than 8.1 even though they had more powerful core i5.. My desktop with just AMD A10 and Windows 8.1 flies circles around them

AnonD-558092, 20 Jul 2018Well I know for sure your attempt to use an emoji pathetica... moreTrue, W10 was and still is, in beta software, in maintenance mode with 1000 bugs left. W10 is for those who don't know for better, or even, W7, 8.1... is better os from MS..

Anonymous, 20 Jul 2018And what do you call the forced Win10 updates these creeps ... moreI wouldn't say it was forced. It was still bad as they used psychological tactics. First they knew people don't read the notices and the notice basically said that for now the update is "OPT IN" but eventually it would become a default opt in and you had to specifically select OPT OUT.

And they hammered these notifications at people. Naturally people would just dismiss them. And they got used to dismissing them out of habit. So when the notification changed people continued to dismiss them. The notification was now asking you to opt-out instead of opt-in. MS knew people would just keep dismissing them since they enforced this behaviour with repetitive notifications.

The installation default for the average dumb consumer was indeed something that they needed to force. These are the people that require security the most. They are the ones that help malware and other stuff spread by not being diligent or reading anything. However, you shouldn't be forcing it on them until windows 10 is truly ready as an OS. They simply wanted to preach how much share windows 10 is gaining so they released it in a really bad state. This broke down many computers no doubt. Today windows 10 is definitely a good OS, but look how long it took before they actually got here. And it's still being refined constantly.

AnonD-558092, 20 Jul 2018If you don't like auto-updates then don't use Windows 10! G... moreIt was also that easy to push it with misleading popup windows for MS and causing headaches for those of us on mission critical stuff.

But to make people resort to silly tactics like those you said for stuff they paid for is just plain dumb.

But with all their profits only from cloud services, they have no choice but to keep pushing it.

Especially now that newer machines no longer accept anything lower than 10.

                Tone down on corporate shilling.

So cloud services it's what Microsoft gets all it's revenues from.
It's not even Microsofts Windows softwares.
Even tho is a profit, it's still a disapointment that microsoft is becoming more and more a cloud service than anything else.
