Samsung (and even iPhone) the two top flagships are losing their touch with people. Only some few die hard fans buying their phones. You don't see anymore any innovation from them. Smaller companies such as Vivo and Oppo with their astonishing design (i.e. Vivo Nex S and Oppo Find X) are stealing the market.
I was thinking to buy the Note9, but now having Vivo and Oppo in the corner, I am deciding to either buy of them.

to be honest, I dont really find the new camera design attractive...I'm actually disappointed with how lame it looks.
I also share SadSoul's view, I think Samsung lost its touch in the last year or so, and smaller/newer companies are willing to be more flexible with innovations.
Samsung is huge as a company, and I bet they have the right talent, but at this point I think they are too conservative. Hmmmm lets remember what happened to the last company that took that path...

The newer models increase the internet speed, a faster 4g connection if your provider does it. My note 8 has speeds nearly 300mbps download and around 100 upload at most times in my city. The camera is almost always improved. The bloatware is reduced. This Samsung. I hope they remain this way with the flag ships. Its a mobile phone not a pc.

Kiyasuriin, 24 Jul 2018Aww... my condulences for the iPhone's death! I do hope you... moreI've been on Android before jump into iOS bandwagon, so I know it will please me in the long run with its flexibility and as long as I don't install suspicious apps, the security will stay strong albeit not as strong as iOS.
One thing I didn't expect: data migration from iOS to Android really is a pain in the deepest part of my soul. And couldn't migrate whatsapp data backup from iOS to Android just add more healthy dose of fresh salt to my soul's open wound.

Kiyasuriin, 24 Jul 2018In here it will begin earliest at September. Lucky you that... moreEveryone else but me. My iPhone has broken too soon and it will be excruciatingly painful for me to make a pre-order and wait for almost two months without a smartphone. Talk about bad timing.
Besides, the Note 9 price (incl. tax) in here will be equivalent to around $1099 (confirmed by the Samsung staffs). I've settled on Note8 for around $789 with free stuffs. You know, clearance promo.

I want it!In my country, the pre-order will start on 10th August 2018 at all Official Samsung Store and almost all authorized retailer (online and brick-and-mortar shop), and the phone will be delivered alte August at the earliest or early September at the latest. Shame my last phone broke too soon and I have to settled with the (still powerful) Note 8.

SadSoul, 23 Jul 2018Very true. I'm been loyal to Samsung flagships for the last... moreI've been a long Samsung buyer too. With a couple of Nokias in between I've "subscribed" to Samsung's phones ever since the first AMOLED phone called Jet. I have been looking long and hard at the two bezel-free phones launched this summer from Vivo and Oppo. The problem with those two phones is that they have zero interest in releasing useful software on their phones. You get what you buy, no software support worth the name. Fire and forget. This would have been acceptable on a midrange device, not for a device costing 1,000 euros.
So... I'll be sticking with Samsung for another foreseeable future. I'll be getting meself one of dem dere Note 9's.

I'm been loyal to Samsung flagships for the last 9 years. No more I'll buy Samsung atleast for few more years. I find it illogical to buy when there are far cheaper but superior(in few areas) alternatives available.

Walter C. Dornez, 23 Jul 2018A company like Samsung dying within a year? Fat chance. I d... moreThe problem is many loyal Samsung customers like me, will buy this year Apple, Huawei, Oppo, Vivo, Honor or Xiaomi. In that moment Samsung will loose a massive number of wealthy and steady customers for S10 in spring of 2019. No one is eternal and Samsung begun to forget this simple rule, like Nokia forgot it in 2007-2008. And at that moment were less competitors.
