Huawei is replacing Samsung as the main android vendor...

"Android's surge in the UK is mostly down to the positive performance of the Huawei P20 Pro, which lead Huawei's UK market share from 2.7% in Q2 of 2017 to 13.7% in Q2 of 2018. Huawei has been a key factor in Android's OS share expansion in China as well."

A "cheap chinese" brand like Xiaomi is back porting a highly marketable feature like Portrait Mode to it's 2 year old models, which even the iPhone 8 doesn't have.
Apple would never provide any such thing to it's older models. It is just equivalent to changing the number, from iOS 10 to iOS 11.
Also, recently we have had quite a few proofs what "under the hood" things Apple does to it's older models with software updates, so that people BUY THEIR NEWER MODELS.

The US iPhone dominance is mostly based on 3 factors:

          1) 4-5 years timely support for devices. This means that people can have the same app/ software features with friends with newer devices. This means that a discounted 2 year old iPhone has at least the same shelf life as a brand new Android, with the benefit of mostly same month updates compared to maybe same year for Android.
          2) Combined with 1) A much larger % of US citizens can afford a last gen or last 2 gen device compared to other countries
          3) Brand loyalty

Android sellers could easily fix the first to by adopting a strategy similar to Apple. But they don't because they know their new devices sales will suffer and that hurts the immediate bottom line....and who wants that?

Note7 owner, 25 Jul 2018Chinese are rich and they can afford the best!! Made in China so they are price is cheap

I wonder where the increase in 'Other OS' comes from...

As expected Chinese love the notch. The other chinese android manufacturer want to compete with iphone x sales so they put notch on every phone they making these day.

Since its China, majority of those iPhone X would be the fake ones.

Seems like the iPhone will sell a lot for the forseeable future.

Quick, someone make a sweeping and condescending character judgment of the iPhone customers.
