26 July 2018
And it's not just smartphones. All devices that use Bluetooth are in a need of a software security fix.

Anonymous, 26 Jul 2018You could also get an iPhone and: Use your phone for 4 yea... moreIt doesn't look like you read the word 'Apple' in the headline sentence:

Bluetooth vulnerability found on Apple and Android smartphones.

As an Apple iPhone user, you maybe suprised that this Samsung Galaxy S6 from March 2015 that I'm writing with, has already had the SMR June 2018 G920FXXU6ERF5 software/ security update, but would be unaffected anyway as it uses the Exynos SoC.

There's a bigger better (not to mention cheaper) World outside of Apple, maybe reading some reviews and news articles would help ;)

Muhamashi18, 26 Jul 2018So my Honor doesn't run a Snapdragon, it runs Kirin, and Im... moreand having a device made by Huawei is the friction between the two that tears both of them.

AnonD-731363, 26 Jul 2018I never run bluetooth so i dont have a problem. Actually, You do still have a problem there lad...

Battery power is still flowing to the BT chip and you didn't even know...

So a word of advice if you "never run bluetooth" - yank that chip off the pcb and voila, you'll truly have "no problem"..

..and as a added bonus, automatic POWER boost will be enabled due to the eliminated power-hungry vulnerability because you are, erm, Captain Power right? & POWER (powah) is whatcha need aye!

          Thank me l8r Cap xD

I don't use bluetooth. So I don't care. Just download everything you want and transfer them via USB cable.

AnonD-558092, 26 Jul 2018WiFi Direct rules hahahaI say cables rules

.alpha, 26 Jul 2018So 95% of Android phones will never have this patched. NiceThis nor any of the Spectre fixes, among a multitude of others.

Anonymous, 26 Jul 2018You could also get an iPhone and: Use your phone for 4 yea... moreIt's really nice to have anons drop in, talk nonsense then leave.

iPhones usually have qualcomm or Intel modems so they're also vulnerable.

Not all people like joining apple's ecosystem, and I sure like to buy phones at half the price of an iPhone or less (mine was about 1/8 the price when I bought it) then make it more functional.

I don't like apple products, but I hate apple (and other brands) fans that try to push what they like on others.

hm, let's see... security patch level September 1, 2016
oh well, intercept my music i guess

LG Superfan, 26 Jul 2018Dont worry I'm pretty sure no one will try to hack your phoneLol yeah I'll be fine. Here in Jamaica everyone's too busy trying make some money, so we don't do much hacking here at all. We also only use Bluetooth for music and nothing else. Files are sent through ShareIt here too. Speaking of bluetooth, I can't wait to get my Bluedio T4S.

Muhamashi18, 26 Jul 2018oh..... :(Dont worry I'm pretty sure no one will try to hack your phone

Alien , 26 Jul 2018The Bluetooth vulnerability is just a "door" being used to ... morenot quite true!
as article specified the Bluetooth just lack a key checking which means it is hard for hacker to intercept with actual os and it is not rally a door for them.
it means they can see what you transfer and i don't think any one would send his/her sensitive info over BT to some one else!
