Xiaomi exec says "no" to S710-powered Mi Max 3

26 July 2018
The base model comes with a Snapdragon 636, which is also based on Kryo cores, but isn't as powerful.

Honor note 8 is the one to get now. It's price dropped to less than $300 and let's not forget that it has a 2K resolution higher than the upcoming Note 10.

    Not sure what the fuss is about.
    The QSD 636 is the lowest midrange SoC and the QSD 710 is the highest midrange SoC.
    Both are excellent choices for the $200-$400 budget phones. People should appreciate that we are finally getting through the QSD 625 era, moving away from A53 towards A73 processors instead.

      We wait to see the honor 10 and calmy decide. If the price difference is small, maybe the honor 10 will be preferable.

            As expected..
            Max series are just redmi note series with oversize screen and battery, same spec inside..
            RN3 = MAX 1 (sd650)
            RN4 = MAX 2 (sd625)
            RN5 = MAX 3 (sd636)

              Anonymous, 27 Jul 2018Then why would people buy this rather than Honor Note 10?I ... moreMaybe better, but a lot more expensive too, it won't be attractive to the target Facebook/YouTube loving demographic. Also, the smaller battery of the Honor Note 10 coupled with the more powerful, more power hungry processor plus its bigger screen means it wont last as long as the Mi Max 3 for marathon Facebook and Youtube use. The amoled screen of the Honor wont save significant battery power over the Mi Max 3's IPS display in real life use due to the white dominated user interface of Facebook. Also, if an IR blaster is a must have feature, buyers will choose the Mi Max 3 as an added attraction aside from the much lower price.

                Anonymous, 27 Jul 2018Better get a Samsung A8 star with SD 660Sorry, the Mi Max 3 demographic will never be satisfied with a phone that small and that low in battery life. No amount of increased loading times or smoother user experience from the faster processor will satisfy their need for huge screen for more enjoyable Facebook and Youtube browsing, as well as huge battery life to use the phone as much as they want without the battery dying on them.

                          i want big screen with good camera specifications rear and front and also power ful proceessor

                            And also put this into consideration. For the past iteration of the mi max, it has been priced @ $200 at least in our country PHL. Max 3 will be around that price i believe, so with its specs (notably the size of screen, battery and SD636) its already a steal!
                            And here's the thing also, they want to maintain the price of the max series. Furthermore, if they put an SD710 on this, who would buy the premium Mix and Mi flagships?
                            Do you even get it guys??
                            Thank me later.

                              Guys listen. Why so disappointed?
                              In the first place there was never an official announcement that there will be a Pro version of mi max 3. Rumors guys, just rumors.
                              Come to think of it!
                              If there's a Pro version, then that is just aBONUS!
                              If none, move on! This phone is already awesome.

                                  Mi Max Pro is no show. All the hype for nothing. I cancelled Xiaomi!

                                    So Mi Max 2/3 & Mi Note 3 no longer worth sitting in premium Mi Series.. Xaomi should rename it to Redmi Max & Note instead..

                                      Max 3 was not 7 inch, only 6.9inch and not 710 too. Not good for tablet and power chip enough. Less than 7 inch or 6.99inch...

                                        Yes but of course. A higher S710 powered Mi Max 3 would cost so much more and few would be willing to buy it especially since S636 is more than enough for Facebook, Youtube, popular non-processor demanding games like COC, Mobile legends, Candy crush, PVZ, Wordscapes, etc., which most buyers of the Mi Max 3 will be using it for. A much higher priced Mi Max 3 with more powerful processor would be attractive to only a VERY FEW of the 'big screen', 'long battery life', Facebook/Youtube demographic.
