Avdshare Video Converter, as the most powerful Huawei video converter, can easily convert any unsupported video format, like MOV, FLV, AVI, MXF, AVCHD, WTV, RMVB, etc to Huawei phones supported MP4 H.264 or other supported video format

Huawei is one of the worst companies out there. I mean you cannot unlock bootloader, it is just horrible, avoid it as plague

Anonymous, 29 Jul 2018To all of you quick to jump the gun on UX Designers / Huawe... moreYou sure? I thought the way to the should be "Phone Manager>Battery>App Launch>Select the app you want to keep running in the background>Manage Manually>Make sure the tabs are Blue."? I doubt average users will be even bother to dig so deep into the such setting options. Without doing this, apps will be killed in the background silently. That's the overly aggressive power management by Huawei.

          Settings > Battery. Done

Wow, that menu was hard to find to manage apps.

And how many that are not? Both side install Spotify app, a third party music player, no? There are many cases when non-tech user asking in the forums, WA groups, etc about how to play certain video files. And often than not, most tech users will suggest to install 3rd party video player (either MX or VLC).

Hell... I once look at my work colleague's phone who ask me for suggestion of why his phone is lagging. And guess what? There are so many 3rd party app installed, and most of them aren't even used, i.e. installed, running at background, and forgotten (these should be the ones Huawei targeting when executing operation wipe out, not an active background apps). You really underestimate what non-tech users can do, aren't you?

So the point still stand. If an average joe can't easily find the setting, UX designers should be blamed.

One would have to ask, what possible reason would require a video player be running in the background 24/7?

And huawei probably made this aggressive background process cleanup "feature" because some app drains the battery in the background accidentally (bad quality app) , and this could lead to bad phone ratings in gsmarena :)
(Android OS made this too from version 5 or 6 as I know, but that was documented API)

What? Im using Huawei and VLC player and I never saw problem with that... -_-

All you need to do is just set it in white list and its done, I have lots of apps that run in background: smartwatch app, grive, tasker, communication apps and bunch of others and I never had problem with that.

The Google Play icon is just staring right there from the default home screen! What makes you think non-tech owners will not install stuffs? They installed Pokemon Go and Candy Crush no? What makes you think they cannot install VLC players the moment they searched for video players? Apple users know how to use App store but not Android users? Your reasoning is extremely ridiculous! Problem is non-tech users has no idea how to tweak the INSTALLED apps such that it will not be affected by the ridiculous power management solution offered by Huawei. Not just VLC is affected. So ya, Huawei is the one to blame from the very beginning.

They use the included software. So his point stands. You're either an average consumer, or a tech user. Make up your mind. I downloaded vlc once and after a couple minutes of nostalgia I stopped using it. I don't see how a so called non-tech user but find those settings, but are carrying audio and video file types that are so complex. I also don't see how a so called tech user couldn't be able to figure it out. You can literally search the settings menu!!
