It's strange, though, but I think they have never used a Nokia or if and when they used a Nokia they just chosed the wrong Nokia... I think Nokia always delivered the full spectrum of specs, HMD now, just you should know what's the one you need! The problem with HMD is that it's still a company lacking retailing on large scale; but it's very difficult to compete nowadays on the smartphone industry... Hope they will find the capital to achieve it and the know-how to be again on the top. I've a Nokia 8 and I think it delivers all what I need; good choice of mine, I think...

To claim that a few ex-Nokia employees had the necessary capital to put up this kind of an operation is laughable. It is a very typical Chinese scheme to buy out a well-known brand name instead of starting from scratch (e.g. Blackberry, Alcatel, which by the way is owned by Nokia Oyj through a similar licensing agreement).
