The R15 notch was fairly wide, the R17 is taking the company in a new direction (shared with the Oppo F9, it seems).

        I don't understand why people hate the notch of this phone. Many notches, like the Asus Zenfone 5 and the Xiaomi mi 8 SE have oversized notches for just housing a camera, earpiece, and sensors. At least this notch is smaller than almost every notch out there right now
