Barney Tabasco, 10 Oct 2011You know what, it's certain things for certain people. Ther... moreYes & your comment is one of the most balanced I've seen from an android fan.
My reply was more to the people who blindly hate the iphone yet have never owned one & the only arguments they can come up with are the iphone is a dumb phone for dumb people.
I've owned an android phone & went for an iphone because the things I wanted it for weren't available on android despite the spec sheet. I thought what's the point of this processor if there's nothing available to use it.
One of my most used features is Sky Go which at the mo is iphone only.
I find the gaming better on an iphone & find the quality of apps better too (just my opinion of course)
& I don't miss things like flash (I have sky fire browser for flash vids & it slows things down awfully) & I don't miss bluetooth file transfer - last time I used that was on my old Samsung D500 & it took me about 20 mins to transfer 1 song to another phone. Nowadays I just email the song file to someone & go about my business without the long wait.

[deleted post]Looking at the way you say things, I can tell for sure you never owned an iPhone... Dont get anything better to say then start insulting iPhones' users... Cheap tactic...

Anonymous, 10 Oct 2011You probably work specifically in a Samsung store... Of cou... moreIf Siri will function absolutely fine through the UK then I may consider the new iphone. I also work with phones and have actually found that more and more people want to know more about high end smart phones rather than expensive iphones. I know the benefits of both OSes, i have a GS2 while my wife has a 3gs and I think the iphone is a brilliant phone but for what I use a phone for and what many people tell me they use a contract for, android phones are becoming a better choice. I don't think these law suits should be going on as it reduces competition and innovation. Back to my point, if Siri can understand all of the accents in the UK and function perfectly fine then I will be impressed with it.

Well...claiming "innovation" on things that are around for quite sometime already is what Apple does best.. like the so called "Revolutionary" Facetime (video call, which was available on the Nokia 6680 back in 2005)

Carphone Guy, 10 Oct 2011Ive been working in Carphone Warehouse for 7 years now and ... moreIn an extension to your comment EVERY S/E phone has been returned by me for repair or broken within 7 months..
I was a anything but a Apple fan since their iphone come out in 2007 but recently bought one and understand why Apple is so good. That term thats always used "IT JUST WORKS" is true..Think of all the bad apps with android which force close,,moments when things get stuck,,hanging, crashes etc you can say goodbye to al thats with an apple product..When you get an iphone its like holding a breath of fresh air,its fonts are even standard throughout and sending an email is sheer brilliance..Say you want to send a picture via email,it gets the photo and shows whats going on using by an animation that i cant describe in words..You can send an MMS which i was unaware of through ignorance.
I think people try other manufacturers throughout their lives and then STOP whe they buy an iphone..As i have said before i have been banned off gsmarena a few times for my insults of apple and now look ,i own one and i am changed..

[deleted post]You probably work specifically in a Samsung store... Of course Android got a voice app.. But Siri is much more advanced than the voice app in the S2 my friend... The Siri is not just limited to whats the weather today... You tell Siri you need to wake up at 6:00 am and Siri will automatically create an alarm for you.. You tell Siri to remind you to buy a thing from the market when you leave from work and Siri will remind you through use of GPS... It can do even more than that... Siri can even understand context... Many people will find Siri very useful... You Probably dont understand the potential of Siri mate...

[deleted post]You know what, it's certain things for certain people. There are things that iOS will do better than Android and vice versa. And it is those things that I think that Android does better that is the reason that I have an Android phone. You're welcome to your choice.
The point I'm making also is that the Apple marketing machine has got its users into such a lather to believe that they are this behemoth of greatness and innovation, despite the great strides that Google have made in the past few months - and I'll readily admit that Android Market isn't upto the standard of App Store yet.

[deleted post]Ive been working in Carphone Warehouse for 7 years now and seen the whole iphone range through and through, same with samsung, Lifes Good and HTC.
i can say from hands on experience that the return rate we get from Samsung products are 4/10 we sell, we get back for repair, and as all out handsets are generic, recived straight from Sammy them selfs, they make unreliable handsets, all the Network shop on the high street think the same....o2, Orange, 3, Vodafone...although there handsets are lock with requires there handsets to be pree loaded with software witch in turn goes wrong its self, they still have the highest return rate in our area.
Knowtice how many people come in and enquire about prices for iPhone, and we divert them to an android handset instead based on the information we ask, that would be the handset that would suit there needs most, how many people go 'Oh that samsungs that looks like the iPhone'? 'Thats just a cheap coppy of the iPhone' 'Why do they all look like the iPhone' lol thats all we get all day lol We personally sell, probibly 10 maybe even 15 android handsets to every 1 iPhone so interms of popularity, android is way above iphone in terms of mainstreem sales. BUT most the andriod handsets we sell are under £100 so its no surprise that andriod sales are overtaking iphone, if apple relesed a iphone for £100 it would be the the ultimate handset to beat. But iphone have a quality product that we see about a 1% return rate, and YES it HAD although i have never had anyone come in with it nor experienced it on my own iphone, a antenna issue but you can say its worse than samsung selling cheep crappy £50 andriod handsets, 40% of with we get back within 6 months, even the top end HTC's....sensation, Sensation SE, Desire HD, Galaxy S II....with has had the highest return rate of any of our andriod products...this will just not doo. Seen the survay recently in the UK and US saying 40% of android users will be going over to an iphone on their next upgrade? 90% of current iphone users play to buy another iphone? Not becuase there bainwashed...because they get a quality product that works, does all the bells and whistles, and never goes wrong, and a bad antenna that effects 1 in 100.

[deleted post]Funny when it comes to Android, its all about widgets, notifications, ringtones, etc lol, those are just side options. Why not go to the meat and bones of what all the power is for, and that is software. Apps.
Android is being pummelled in the gaming arena, and going to be made to look increasingly bad, with the advent of a new adversary, WP7, bringing along with it Microsoft's pedigree in gaming.
Now, instead of iOS only, games will come to iOS and WP7, with Android saying "coming soon". How do you think Android will look then? Maybe that's why you have your widgets and notification bars lol, you all need to do something on your phones after all :)

I have a 3GS. It's still going strong with no issues and is my original 3GS, no replacements on this one. But designs and innovations is an interesting topic. It is possible to come up with a design similar to someone else, especially if the separate parties are trying to achieve a similar goal.
Perhaps Apple should have said, first in an iPhone.

simple user, 10 Oct 2011well, you should know Apple sells on market to many people ... moreYup correct. The thing is, these things really get overblown in comment sections. Internet anonimity makes people more reckless, and rude online.
Truth is, it is a great time in tech, so many ideas and innovations flying in from every direction. Not even a two horse race, WP7 is also entering the fray with interesting ideas.
So many awesome smartphones to choose from. I am just happy that I have so much choice.

[deleted post]nicely said,man!
you iFans won't confess that your "heavenly" device is just an ordinary, every day piece of hardware, made out of "buyed parts"...why don't they invest in their own technology (when they are full of YOUR money),buy some small proccessor company, create their own motherboards and chipsets...it's cause it is far more cheaper to make it this way,so they can sell you a device, that should normaly cost abot 300$ as simfree, for double that price!
that's why i give my vote to Samsung, they create technology and invest money in the right way!design is a secondary thing, you can copy,or come out with your own look, but why bother, when all touchscreen phones look alike...
