Wow CPU Boost. So what, Huawei rebranded Branch Prediction again? Great job making proprietary junk that won't get dev support... especially since regular branch prediction does not need intervention from either the user of the dev.

And seriously what in the world is their justification for removing the jack here? Big 7" slab has no room?

I would've considered getting this phone if we didn't already know how powerful the kirin 980 is going to be.

                    7'' 1080p?? I mean ok...

This is a brilliant device, hope it arrives fast to Europe, I am definitely buying one! Unless the new Mate 20 has the choice of also a big screen, specially the Porsche edition.

What an interesting device, I wonder if it will ever leave china and reach other countries.

There's no reason why this device should be this large and have no headphone jack. That's beyond ridiculous

Sorry but a bit too big for any kind of comfortable usage as a "smartphone"

Stache , 31 Jul 2018This would have been the perfect phone if they waited for t... moreHonor would not be allowed to debut the Kirin 980, that will be reserved for the Mate 20. But they could've waited a couple months after the Mate 20 so the Note 10 could share such SoC.
Anyway, the Kirin 970 is a very capable chipset and arguably has aged better than the comparable SD 835 and Exynos 8895 due to the improvements made by Huawei on each flagship they release. I would definitely not complain given the price it release with, but would gladly pay $50 more if a Kirin 980 powered version arrived in the near future

Hey man, I mostly agree. On the economics side of this, the US/EU market has been mostly decided and has gone the way of Apple/Samsung and China/India is fresh ground with about 25% of the word's population. As an added bonus for Huawei... the US government is actively trying to prevent Huawei device and equipment sales/importation.

This would have been the perfect phone if they waited for the Kirin 980 instead of that old Kirin 970 which is from 2017. Everything else is on point though.
