Here in India, there is mix usage in terms of phones, people use basic keypad 3G phones, Mid range phone and high end phones depending upon their level of understanding new gadgets and personal preference. Most of the users prefer android over iPhone because it is more reliable and open OS give freedom in what they want to use. Also unlike many Western countries, India doesn't have buying phone option on contract from network provider as we feel we would have to shed out more money. Hence majority of the people purchase handsets outright or on Credit card EMI with 0% interest rate. Also in terms of data we have many network provider who offers AYCE mins and 30GB data (1GB per day) for 399 INR ($5.81). i hope this gives you a bit of insight of what happens in INDIA.

Anonymous, 01 Aug 2018It is indeed revolutionary for their users who never got to... moreDual sim is not a good thing is western markets, very few use it and you cant possible explain them why they should pay two phonebills instead of one. iPhones never needed dual sim before now, and its because of their insane sales growth in China mainly, countries like India never was big on Phones anyway, and mark my prediction: Even with dual sim India will not embrace iPhones, India is different and always had very specific and special needs, a mojority of users didnt even want to give up on Symbian in India, thats how different it is, the rest of the world cannot even begin to understand, and Indians cannot even begin to understand the rest of the world and especially not the western smartphone market.

As a previous iPhone owner for years i switched to a s9+ dual SIM purely because i needed a dual sim being that my business is oversees so i can run my home sim and overseas sim. My employees have all followed . Saves carrying two phones, and buying a local sim with internet access, minutes etc enables the home sim to receive WhatsApp mesages etc.

Dual SIM in iphones are just way too late. Users have been clamoring for it for years. What's next, micro sd card support? I just hope Google's Pixel phones would have dual sim options too and micro sd card slot. Otherwise, it will remain a hapless, flightless bird that will never take off no matter how hard Google tries to promote its free cloud storage or its unusable e-sim.

Dual SIM is popular in my area, people tend to use one SIM as their primary number and another SIM as internet connection. once your data package runs out just throw it away and buy new SIM (yes SIM is disposable here, you can buy SIM like buying peanut)

                                        On Apple Keynote 2018 Sept.

The A13 processor is a revolutionary chip we have developed. It houses a dedicated D1 chip. With this chip exceptional parallel processing ability, we are able to add a second SIM card slot. Data, voice, messages seemlessly integrates with iMessage. Now, not only you can receive call from 1 SIM card, you can DO it with 2 SIM card simultaneously! One for play.. one for work.

Which we will release the new iMessage app that will handle this amazing feature in late fall 2018 or the start of 2019. (But truth delayed to mid 2019 due to bugs)

On mid 2021, expect Siri support!

The media and the crowd (only first row of the crowd.) goes wild!.
