ducle2502, 22 Aug 2018Just to give you some context, the top of the line chipset ... moreI'm on a budget tight and not aiming for such SD 845 phones this time. Sure, Poco F1 is there yet it's rare to get this in my country since Xiaomi is only available on Manila.

I agree though. My phone is powered by SD 435, not a Kirin chipset in the first place.
It's old but very serviceble of playing intensive games to be honest.

Stay away from Kirin and EMUI since they will cripple your device if used to long. I mean, an inefficient processor coupled with poorly optimized UI = lag and huge battery drain.

Some people are trying to justify the money they spent on a bad choice by saying battery is good or everything is smooth. But believe me, use another phone with the 845 and feel the difference.

Geric.770, 06 Aug 2018EMUI is actually improving over the years. Like Qualcomm's ... moreJust to give you some context, the top of the line chipset from snapdragon, the 845, offers 30% more performance power and 60% more graphic processing power than the best from huawei, the 970.

They have used the same chip for 2 consecutive year, which shows that money has gone into marketing and not research. Better try harder to play catch up.

Shui8, 06 Aug 2018Not base on my experience. EMUI is very stable, intuitive w... moreWell, Kirin chipset has never have a good reputation. If you want camera, go with the p20, that seems to be the only thing Huawei is good at. If you want performance for price, choose Xiaomi, they excel in this aspect. I always choose phone with Snapdragon processor for better performance for both normal and gaming use, as proven by tests.

Shui8, 06 Aug 2018Wow u have two P20 Pro? Can list down the flaws and error? ... moreI had, not anymore. Ui glitches. App glitches, especially social media apps. App crashes when working with pictures. Miss clicks on apps, in apps. Random restarts, even when using apps, like GPS. My wife's p20 pro only experience the ui glitch a very few times.

If you have ever used a kirin 960 unit, before the ai. You will experience that the ai is still mildly on, when turning it off. Try to do point and shoot with p10 plus, in different lights. Then try the p20, with ai off. Then you will see that the ai is still working in the background, screwing up the picture quality. Even in pro mode, with everything auto, you will see the difference between ai fully off and not.

Dont u care that it has option to turn off AI camera features so that photos will look more natural. And for your info, starting from Honor 10 and Huawei Nova series u have an option to take both AI and non AI photos so that the best can be selected.

ducle2502, 06 Aug 2018Kirin chipsets in Honor phones are notorious for being bad ... moreEMUI is actually improving over the years. Like Qualcomm's SoCs experience from worse to better, Huawei's software has becoming closer to stock Android in terms of updates.
My Y7 Prime 2017 received 3 straight security updates since May until July. Performance? Also great and stable, and the battery optimization is better than ever even if my device isn't Oreo yet.

To be honest though, is this Honor Play the renamed version of Huawei Nova 3 in Philippines?

Kirin chipsets in Honor phones are notorious for being bad with graphic processing. In addition, its heavy EMUI skin causes lags and stutters everywhere. I have seen a lot of complaints in online user groups about these problems. Huawei still has a long way to go if it wants to beat Samsung and Apple, which offer far superior performance and optimization.

Zenodroid, 05 Aug 2018400$ for the 64 gb version. And you still get so much more ... moreThe base model is $310 in China for the 64 GB model. Not sure where you are getting $400 figure. If it does cost $400 then its not a good price. Hopefully they will match the Chinese price. For $300 this phone is a bargain IMO.

BrendonF, 05 Aug 2018The op6 costs $510 in my country. Still pretty significant ... more400$ for the 64 gb version. And you still get so much more for the money. Kirin 960 was a lot better than 970, because it doesn't have the crappy ai to ruin the picture quality. P10 plus is even 370$. And is 128gb and with 6gb ram.

Mediatek sux, 05 Aug 2018Just get a oneplus 5 then. Even thats better than this. One plus 5 is only available used. And I don't think it will see any updates beyond Android P. This phone should see a few more updates beyond P.

With GPU Turbo gaming performance should be even more improved.

PCGamingGuru, 04 Aug 2018hell yes! for gamers like me in pakistan, this is heaven! ... moreYou will be disappointed, the 970 is a throttlebeast. And you cant even set a higher temp limit.

Zenodroid, 05 Aug 2018So does op. The op6 costs $510 in my country. Still pretty significant difference between that and the honor play which is approx $300 where I am. Of course the op6 will have better screen, better processor, better ram, better software but the difference isn't huge but the price is significantly more.

                                  Shui8, 05 Aug 2018This is $350 phone on a flagship performance, OP cost $560 ... more560$ is the 256gb version here.

Do you expect this budget device to be better than your flagship and you're complaining when the device is not yet on the market. Seems fair enough me hah.

Zenodroid, 05 Aug 2018So does op. This is $350 phone on a flagship performance, OP cost $560 in my place, and that is a huge gap. As OP 6 goes beyond $500, i wouldnt call it a flagship killer anymore. Even the better Honor 10 cost $400, View 10 cost $430.

Drake, 04 Aug 2018Stop whining mate, this is what you get for the price tag. ... moreI had 2 p20 pro. Both full of flaws and errors. Huawei here wouldn't do anything about it, so I met my mjölnir and was destroyed. Only p10 plus is worth my money, if it's Huawei. Ai even ruined the cameras true quality.
