              2) AnTuTu tests everything, including RAM, storage, etc. We're not talking about those components from synthetic tests, we're talking about the SoC.               3) What you're asking for is dependent on far more factors than the SoC, including animation speed, OS, RAM, storage type, programming differences, etc.

              The 2017 Pixel devices loses all guaranteed support, including security patches, at October 2020.

              The other examples you dragged up are not examples of cost cutting. They're examples of optimising a device around its intended uses. Apple has no competition in the iOS ecosystem. They don't have to do the silly spec race that Android manufacturers do.
              The TouchID fingerprint reader is, by the way, far cheaper than the new FaceID scanner. So, again, not an example of cost cutting.

              6) Apple has made a business out of valuing privacy. They have no business that would benefit from aggregating or using your private information, unlike Google who runs an ad network. Instead, Apple would risk their entire business model AND receive massive European fines if they did.
              Google, on the other hand, is primarily running an ad network business. Their goal is to gather as much information about you, your life, your movements, your interests, your connections, etc, as possible.
              This isn't about how well each company stores your information. It's WHAT they gather about you, and what they use it for.

                          1. Technically SD 845 is also a 2017 processor, because it launched in Dec 2017, just like every flagship SD.

                          2. If we talk about synthetic performance, SD 845 has an average Antutu score of over 250000, while A11 sits below 200k.

                          3. If we talk about real life performance, show me one speedtest on the internet where iPhone X beats OP6.
                          Though I agree iPhone would open PUBG (or for that matter most other games, though some still open faster on Android) for me a humongous 2 seconds faster, all the other apps which you would actually use a lot more during the day, open faster on Android.
                          Also the UI on almost all Android skins today is buttery smooth, even Samsung's, which used to be the laggiest a few years back.

                          4. Pixel 2s, launched in 2017, have been promised 3 major Android updates (ie till Android R in 2020) plus another year of security updates, so that puts it at 4 years of official support. Oneplus is giving a third major Android update to 2016's OP3/3T plus future security updates as well. Yesterday an article said that even Samsung is pushing official update to 2014's Note 4. But yeah I don't have an answer for you if you compare support for a 150 dollar phone with a 1000 dollar Apple flagship.

                          5. You can check Jerry Rig Everything's channel, where he clearly lays bare Apple's false claim of using sapphire on their back camera lens. Also, their claim of using the "strongest glass on any device ever" has been busted by numerous people. So it's not that Apple is only doing cost cutting, they are doing cost cutting while claiming that they are providing expensive materials.
                          Also, still using 3 gb RAM, poor selfie camera modules, smaller batteries, lower res displays etc is part of cost cutting. The charging cable, if you have used one, is probably the poorest quality cable provided by any brand. Even my 150 dollar phone had a better quality cable, which coincidentally had a 5V/2A charger in the box, while the 1000 dollar phone has a 5V/1.2A charger.
                          Why did they remove fingerprint reader? Anwer: Cost cutting!
                          The list goes on and on!
                          Also, I guess for you, anything that Apple omits is "irrelevant", then good luck paying 1000 bucks for another Apple flagship. It's your money after all.

                          6. Well, just because Tim Cook explicitly doesn't say "we leak your data", or someone hasn't found out of data leak at Apple, doesn't mean your data at Apple is 100% safe. Did Apple itself accept that they were throttling older phones, before the same was busted by users? NO!
                          Also, in today's world your data is everywhere. You give your personal contact and other details to literally dozens of corporations. So, you are really naive thinking your data is 100% safe on an iPhone, or any more safer than in an Android.

                                And androids are already more advanced before those updates than the iPhone is after the updates.
                                Not to mention most of those updates seeming like rushed last second betas full of bugs despite all the extra cash thrown at Apple and claims of optimization. And that have clearly been shown to bog down even slightly older i phones despite the claim of oh we don't need specs and it just works.

                                      Android also doesn't provide software support for 3-4 years. The longest software support you can get on Android is the Google and Nokia support, which is 2 years of major updates and 3 years of security updates. It's pitiful in comparison to Apple right now. Adding to that, most manufacturers don't support their devices at all. You get what you buy, nothing else.

                                      Now, could you link some sources about Apple cutting corners or using cheaper materials for lenses? Their exorbitant prices for repairs is something we agree on at least, and their odd choice of not including faster chargers, but that's irrelevant to the point being discussed in this thread.

                                      With Apple you buy the hardware AND software, with lengthy support. With Android you buy hardware and become a Google product, where Google takes all your personal and private information for their ad network. Apple may be more expensive, but there's a very good reason for that. You BUY a product, rather than BECOME a product.

                                        Apple's chips are also not proven to be slower in speed tests. They're in fact far more capable in terms of raw processing power, and optimised for the ecosystem they're running on.
