paco2x, 06 Aug 2018A small and almost dying company can push timely OS updates... moreObviously because Essential is small company with only one phone. They got nothing better to do anyway other than fixing and pushing updates to their one and only Essential Phone.

      Wow! Cool. ;-)

Essential made a phone with amazing build quality, clean software, and an original design. However, they didn’t really put in all the essential features needed to justify 700 dollars. This is great news for EP owners! Unfortunately the phone was not very successful for the makers, so there might not be a successor... I hope I'm wrong though. Good companies deserve support.

Except for the Camera app it's pretty much stock if I'm not mistaken. And with Android P's notch support, they have even less software related 'problems'. Still, they should be applauded for their excellent support, sucks things didn't work out as well as they hoped.

A small and almost dying company can push timely OS updates... but big, gigantic players like Samsung and Huawei are struggling to launch faster updates on their flagship phones...
