The headline is wrong, they sold an overall of 525 million Playstation consoles (all models combined), not PS4

Sony would wish that, would be no competition if in 5 years time Sony would move 500 millions consoles :))) unfortunately it is a massive misunderstanding from GSM Arena and this number includes all PlayStation console sales from 1994 including ps1, ps2, ps3, ps4 and maybe even psp and ps vita. By real numbers Sony sold maybe around 80 million or less Ps4 consoles since 2013 :)

AnonD-558092, 09 Aug 2018525M PS4 is an error. No Gen 8 system got past 100M unitsIt's probably the cumulative sales of the entire series. PS1 + PS2 + PS3 + PS4 + PSP/Go + PS Vita (102.49 + 155 + 80 + 81.2 + 82 + est. 15 = 515.69 million) which is well within margin of error.
