Kiyasuriin, 14 Aug 2018When messing with an app that glugs off 2 GB of RAM like FL... moreI have to agree, but because of a different reason.
More ram means a longer life span. A newer android version might need at some point more ram. Case in point is my Mi Pad 1, it only had 2 GB of ram and I used it for 3.5 years. The only reason it got really slow was because lineage os (although unofficial, it was good) got slowed down due to the ram.
So bottom line, if you want to use a device for a long period of time (good for the environment and for your wallet), more ram is ALWAYS the way to go.

Nahid, 13 Aug 2018With good ram management and optimization 4 gb ram is enoughWhen messing with an app that glugs off 2 GB of RAM like FL studio? Don't make me laugh. It's not about optimisation. It's about Size, and when messing with a music composing app like FL studio, or SoundCAMP, amount is the unit that talks, not quality.

Anonymous, 13 Aug 2018Stop manipulating the topic. As I said, there is no point f... moreI am not. My complain was on all tablets. REGARDLESS if it is a midrange or a flagship. I am a multitasker. I am a DJ, Composer and gamer. And for my tasks, 4GB of ram is not going to cut it. I am well aware this tablet is a mere midrange, and I have nothing against it.

Anonymous, 13 Aug 2018there is nothing professional about a friggin tablet. Unless you are talking abput Wacom Cintiq.

With a SD660, thats gonna wreak the new Samsung Tab A X1, certainly if priced in the same region. No point of buying that SD450 disappointment.

Those low ram tablets are retarded. Tablets draw more things at once so each app is heavier on ram than they are on phones. The average tablet needs about 50% more ram than a phone to hold equally many apps in memory ... Yet not one above 4Gigs.

No wonder they are dying? It is better to buy nothing than to buy an overpriced low end gizmo...

Anonymous, 13 Aug 2018I have 8GB of ram in my OP5T and I never reach more than 4G... moreAdmittedly, 4 gigs are enough for most users. However, some people like doing more work on their tablets, they're portable, and some have good performance. So if they offer more features they may not need to take their expensive windows laptop/tablet or their apple alternatives (ipad isn't bad, still lacks in certain areas) to their family vacation.

Adobe lightroom, for example, may be one of the most demanding apps around in terms of RAM. I need a tab for reading books mostly, so I bought the cheapest 1GB/8GB that had a decent screen ($80 at the time) still, you don't see me saying people who buy more expensive tablets with better specs are stupid as their usage pattern may require such specs...

Priced right & I'll buy it. Sd660 performs like an s6 which is still very fast

As I said, there is no point for more ram in a non flagship device as it couldn't make use of it. These devices are made for consuming content and entertainment. Not for professional uses even though they may be advertised that way. Instead of effin complaining in every comment section how tablets don't have enough ram and then bragging how you have some kind of windows tablet (these are the devices you should look for and complain about if you're looking for professional stuff) you should just face the truth and use some logic. You might want to come out as a "professional" in the comment section, but in the end it makes you sound the opposite.

I know many phones that have 8 GB of ram. And I agree. But for the sake of multitask? No tablet has more than 4 GB!

Kiyasuriin, 13 Aug 2018No tablet ever goes beyond 4GB of ram. WHY!? It's annoying!I have 8GB of ram in my OP5T and I never reach more than 4GB of usage. More ram isn't going to make your device faster. Also, there is no point for more than that in a non flagship device.

Finally a good sized tablet from Xiaomi. Slice it under 300 and I don't care about internals.
