          Although, you need to do a full restore in order to use the icloud one.

            Yes it's important to note that it's not encrypted while in backup state on google drive. This is also unfortunately true on iOS. From whatsapp's website: "Media and messages you back up aren't protected by WhatsApp end-to-end encryption while in iCloud."

                          Keep in mind that the end-to-end encryption for your chats are of less value if you're storing backups of these online. The backups are not encrypted. Maybe government intelligence services are paying Google to offer free Google Drive backups for WhatsApp users?
