It's not like the censorship is going to stop without google. Just keep surrendering control over android google, good for consumers, google are kind of clueless over what casual users want from android anyway.

They already have Baidu in perfect Chinese language. Google translation make so many mistake. They did not ask Google to come.

Google doesn't want the competition from the Chinese government LOL.

Google already aggressively censors results now. I use Yandex and duckduckgo because of that. The fact the employees are whining about China just shows they are hypocrites

Foxconn, Pegatron) - with factories in China - to manufacture their products. And while they've likely invested in these companies, I don't believe they hold a controlling interest in any of them.

Anonymous, 17 Aug 2018So, spying on users is ethical, but censorship is not? It's only called spying when it's secret. When you literally agree to give your data (accepting EULA) and everyone and their dog knows what data they're collecting (pretty much everything they technically can), it's not spying any more.

Good to see that their employees aren't as effed up in their heads as their greedy leaders.

The proposed Google deal would offer Chinese customers an altered/second hand product (censored search engine), that the 'beloved' comunist leaders would approve of.
I think that is the ethical problem.
