If I buy flagship I will buy Sony. If not Huawei Honor 10 looks pretty for me.

Shanti Dope, 26 Aug 2018To each his own, the XZ2 wasn't actually as heavy as I thou... more6mm at thinnest edge is still thick by today's standards. With 11.1mm thickness, I think some of 2012 phones did better job in this department. And the thickness increases to 13+mm if you use with phone cover/case- which is very recommended because it has very fragile curvy glass back. It just needs one drop to break.

Kind of hard for the rest of the smartphone world, to compete with the likes of China.
To do business in China, you have to give up some of your intellectual property rights.
China takes those, reverse engineers it, knocks it off cheaper, and sells it. With their
peasant labor force of 6 billion plus people, living in dorms that amount to prisons, they can manufacturer items cheaper than any competition. I'm not saying some of their products are inferior, but what they are doing is squeezing out some of the competition, then once gone, will jack up the price.
Shoot, Look what Oppo darling OnePlus has done with each generation of their sub par phone, jacked up the price to the point it isn't the bargain it once was. Bargain from a standpoint of still having to put up with bug after software bug.

I like the direction Huawei is going. How many models have they made(including Honor) with the K970 chipset. I would guess they continue this with the K980. A flagship phone for everyone's taste.

A very good read. If I may add, this article has this "kind of hyper vibe" or is it just me?

                  oppo & vivo? hahahahhahahaah

Remove oppo and vivo from the list ... add Asus , now the thread looks more better .

Same story of Motorola with Z3/Z3 Play.

This would be like using SD845 inside XA2 and A8.

Except battery life, no way P20 is better than U12+.

                          U12 has latest cpu/gpu, p20 does not
U12 records great videos , p20 does not
U12 has great audio / p20 does not
U12 will get Pie before p20
U12 gladly does not have notch, p20 does

At the last paragraph, they said "We also have a review unit of the Zenfone 4 here at the office, all set to enter the review pipeline. You can expect a detailed review in the coming weeks."

Sounds that they've the unit one but I don't know what they did with the phone until now.

That's just enormous it would be ok at ~700$ because the phone offer nothing...
LCD+Big bezels+ horrible design at 999$ you can get much much better.
And i really don't understand this 999$ price tag cause Sony doesn't promote like Apple or Samsung to justify these price...

Sony..., 26 Aug 2018Excuse me but i find LG more promising than Sony. At least ... moreTo each his own, the XZ2 wasn't actually as heavy as I thought it would be.
No, it's not like you're going to feel the 11mm thickness too literally all the time, since that's just the thickest part of the phone (thinnest area is around 6mm I think).
LG phones are nice. I have seen the G7 ThinQ and I loved mostly everything about it, especially the screen that's damn juicy in colors and insanely good contrast for an IPS screen. I would even say that I prefer it over the XZ2 mainly for the presence of (and better) 3.5mm headphone jack, more impressive screen quality (according to my eyes), louder speaker (though inferior sound quality to XZ2), and more fun and customizable UI (especially camera app that's packed with lots of great and useful features like Manual Video).

In terms of reliability and long-time period, Sony wins this, as LG has been known to have some quality control issues after a certain period of time, and that's why I rank Sony to be above LG. It's like Apple, not too exciting, but it works longer than expected.

I agree on LG and HTC. Especially HTC, because they have loyalists much more like Sony loyalists. Wrong pricing strategy is the main culprit of sales fall. Uh oh, don't forget since they ditch 3D SENSE UX,their new fans starts to leave them.

Mate 20 Pro will be the winner of H2 2018.

Pixel 3 XL will be the loser of H2 2018.
