      AnonD-24476, 20 Oct 2011Guys pls help me. Till now im confused with homescreen of... moreIt's actually the other way around... If you play around with a windows phone, you'll realise that each tile is for you to pin applications/hub/people/pictures to, for example I could pin the current weather to the start menu, and you could see the weather straightaway from the home screen, or you could pin a friend's contact there, and it's going to show you their latest status update and their latest photo on facebook etc etc etc. Wait a while for the applications to fully utilize this feature though, the current apps need a bit of brush up.

            Normal consumers are going to prefer the WP7 instant update approach rather than being uncertain about OS updates.

                    @Hi
                    WP8 and Windows 8 will both come in Q4 2012. I do not know if they will launch on the same day.

                    @Asemahdi
                    Either you're a Microsoft hater or utterly misinformed. WP7 is the most stable phone OS on the market today (do some research). I have not had to reboot my WP7 phone *ever* since I bought it over a year ago. You might be right about Nokia but I sure wouldn't trust your opinion.

                      look at htc..they said that HTC DESIRE S will not get ICS..{{which is by the way only released in 2011 feb}}

                      And i dont think nokia will follow androids steps...

                      they are more likely to follow apple's update path..And thats why they support few chipsets.

I dont think so .same can be applied to windows apollo i think it will be a higher upgrade and also lower end phones do not support mango thats why they are developing tango which is for 480*360 resolution and lower chasis 2 same will happen to single cores now they have clearly said that windows 8 and windows apollo will converge into a single kernel so i predict apollo will be a higher end update like ice cream sandwich for android .

                          Android phones had ruled the market just as the window OS ruled the PCs. Now the window Phones are coming TOO late to the smartphone market unless the window running phones offer some nitches that outperform the Android counterparts.

                            i got the n9. the design is absolutely amazing. meego is swipe ui is amazing. the only way i'm gonna by a wp is if they integrate the swipe ui into the wp os, and oh yeah make the ui look prsttier no one wants to look at a screen full of blocks

                              so this does not mean that the old ones wont get updates....

                                REASON- N9's firmware file size is above 1gb{{yes,its released on their server..cheked by navif*rm}}

                                Perhaps, the dual boot option will be enabled by putting another firmware on the external memory card{or mass storage}

                                Then also, it will be too complicate...
                                Just imagine this,
                                1.you saved a contact on meego os...
                                2.You are currently using wp os..
                                3.you will have to reboot the whole device,just to get that contact....

                                although, this is my thinking over this thing.

                                Maybe devs will find a solution on this...

                                IF it happens, i will surely by N9{MeeGo}
                                And then i will put wp7.5 {mango} on it...

                                and to be precise, n9 actually have linux kernals, so it will be much easier for me to ""root"" it OR ""boot"" it for diffrent os's .
                                Just like N900, which runs on android 2.2

                                  NOKI IS STILL NOT HAVING THE RIGHT STRATEGY. Windows mango is good but still amateur. So all users will be thriving for updates . Considering windows road map, their next update will be APOLLO. And it is rumoured that apollo requires chasis 3 which is DUAL CORE what is the use of releasing single core processor phones now . This will seriously disappoint the users when they will know that their beautiful sea ray or sun or what ever is not going to get apollo . Nokia wake up release something that can live long and can be updated go for chasis three right now

The updates go to all devices at the same time and on regular basis. WP7 has been out under a year and its had 2 major upgrades and a couple of little ones. The OS is the most stable platform on the market today as well as the most secure, fastest, slick and least resorce hungary (ie battery life). Nokia on the other hand has a great reputation for solid hardware. Also Ovi is no more so i dont get your ref there as it will all be linked into the WP7 marketplace, which kills androids and apples in every way but quantity of apps but if 30k plus isnt enough with a faster rate of growth then android then there is no hope for you.
