These patents are i believe just a marketing gimmick.
Pureview and Puremotion display HD are developed for Microsoft and Symbian OS by Nokia. Will Nokia will share the technology also to HMD Global ?
Do HMD have the resources to rewrite these technologies for Android ? is what matters...

Lumia 920 and Lumia 1020 are among best smartphones in direct sunlight and deep dark conditions. Lumia 920 can show the potential of the technology as the display is IPS LCD instead of AMOLED.
Best display of its time and fastest to respond (Late 2012 and beginning of 2013) was inside the best smartphone of the year.
It still works as the day one. (No issue at all)
Off topic: if you want to make Lumia 920 ill for ever, turn GPS on, don't cover it with anything except from water and keep it in your hand from the sea level and climb the mountain to 3500m+ in winter cold rainy weather.
I did it 3 times and all three after that trip had same Problem:
When handset become hot, touch will be irresponsive until turn it off again, wait to be cool, turn on again and then it will be responsive until the next time it becomes hot.
