This is the main reason I still with Motorola :D
And by the way I'm waiting to get in 3 days more My Atrix 2, :D let's see if is as cool as they said, but I now know I'm with the right company!!!!

Yes, Google bought Motorola, to acquire Motorola's set of patents because they're being riddled with patent lawsuits. They have stated they plan to let Motorola continue doing whatever it wants, and all manufacturors have to bid the same way to make each Nexus phone, giving Motorola no unfair advantage. Then a while later Google said they might as well use having their own hardware company to their advantage in making interesting new products. It's possible that Google can help out Motorola in releasing this update.

The Galaxy Nexus was probably been worked on before they decided to go after Moto-Mobility. They did made a statement that they were not going to favor Motorola over the other OEMs, but that's yet to be seen. I don't see how a company is not going to favor one of their branc over other companies. It would be nice for Google to give Motorola the next Nexus phone so they can work on it, maybe they'll come up with something as thin with LTE as the Droid Razr...

Ananth, I think it's the fact that Samsung makes by far the best screens, super amoled. Google scratches Samsungs back (gives them the Nexus line and 1st ice cream sandwich) Samsung scratches Googles back (gives them super amoled screens for some of their motorola phones like the razr) Everybody wins!

It was announced a while ago Google bought out motorola's mobile division fro 12 billion i think. Lovely portfolio of patents for the legal teams :)

Samsung were in the final stages of the new nexus when this happened so it wasnt really possible to switch to moto. I would bet that the next nuxus phone will be a motorola device though.
