Why couldn't the 3XL just do this? This design (save for the lack of a headphone jack and microSD) is...acceptable.

WoW, these bezels are even bigger than Samsung’s flagships, wtf? I’d choose LG’s implementation of having a notch and optional software bezels than those permanent bezels on pixels and galaxies any day.

It is a great look improvement on Pixel 2. Small bezel, classic stylish looks from previous renders, not all slippery smudge glass, good eco system full of things that get enjoyed daily and leading edge photo processing. Lastly, I just hope the glass to frame has a smooth transition unlike the 2. Looking forward to the final release. For me it's Pixel 3 with excellent size 5.5 screen or maybe pending Nokia flagship.

Honestly speaking, this turned out better than what we expected. According to previous rumors, the screen was supposed to be 5.3", battery was supposed to be 2700 mah & other disappointing things like that. In reality, this is decent as far as Pixel lineup goes.
Between this and the XL, this definitely takes the cake. More people will prefer it. Hopefully Google will learn from this debacle & finally put a new modern design on both of their phones next year...
