Ubersonic, 05 Sep 2018How can they patent something Nokia has been using on it's ... moreWhy cant you read the article first? The patent is about automatic adjustment of burnt-in areas of the display, masking of burn-in, noone had that before, theres no existing technology to do this.
All you read was "Always on" and then got angry and went straight to the comment section?

pt020 , 05 Sep 2018My 5 years old Sony Smartwatch 2 has screen always onAnd does your Sony pull up your boarding passes when you approach the airport, check you in and all the way through the gate? Does it let you leave your atm cards at home and pay with the doubleclick of a button?
Its getting ridiculous with all the users who dont know what to use a smartwatch for demanding functions they want in applewatch only because they are not there and when they come they will not buy one anyway. Just like when all androiders wanted circular displays, that has no rooms for gadgets and shortcuts in the corners, everything that is a bad idea they scream for, despite having no plans to ever get an applewatch.
Anyway I will not use always on display, if all i need is time i will order a chronograph watch from the Ferrari online store. I even turn off the raise to wake function, always checking the time is compulsive behaviour and serves no purpose whatsoever.

What's not fair? If Apple adds a keyboard on their phones people would complain Nokia's been doing that 2 decades ago. It's just a feature they are adding, chill the f out. If you want to complain complain every other company copying the "notch" from Apple.

How can they patent something Nokia has been using on it's phones/smartphones for years :S

Are they trying to argue it's different because it's a phonewatch not a phone?
