AnonD-9023, 28 Oct 2011Yeah i got it. i will install a new theme on a nokia pho... moreYou sound like one Nokia fanboy... You just watched a stupid video and wants to talk about ICS... ICS brought a lot new, more than your Anna update brought... Anna just brought a slightly faster browser, BOYAHHH!!!
Dont try to make ICS down, if your OS cannot even compete the slightest bit.

ICS has new looks, in your eyes just a new theme.
ICS brings UI Hardware Acceleration (which is one of the best things ever to come to a OS) which you cannot see in a video, but you can feel it by using a ICS phone.
Then there are some minor changes, but what did people expect? Everyone uses the word innovation, but has no full understanding of that word. Without new hardware components, which bring new features, there will be absolutely no new anything for any mobile OS, just like on a PC, where we can use Windows 7, but whats the huge difference to the almost 9 year older windows XP, other than the so called different theme? Just more modern look and featurewise? Nothing, minor improvements of things that were already there and thats how it is going to be for all OSs. Faster hardware, more modern look, minor improvements and thats it. People who expect more, have absolutely no true understanding of how computer work and where their limits are.

AnonD-9023, 28 Oct 2011So u say android is good ? No updates for phone after one ... moreI know the N8 camera and it definetly aint best anymore and saying that, only means you got an N8...
The so called tracking you can simply turn off yourself, unlike iOS.
Oh nand thats a funny one, cuz I remeber having a Nokia 5800 back in 2009 and it couldnt do flash. I gues you missinterpret something here. Nokia till now can only do FLASH LITE 3.1 maybe 3.2 and Android has full Flash 10 support, that is a really big difference here.
And I totally get, why Nokia has not such big fragmentation issues, because all their different phones, are actually the same, but with slightly lesser or higher hardware, just like my Nokia 5800, which had like 5 clones from Nokia itself.

And the last part of you is really sad... I dont really get, who actually wants to use some crappy program on PC do be able to use your phone and make backups. With Android you are not bound to something like that and actually I see numerous ways too back up my android without even using a PC, maybe just to store the backup, nothing else.
You really sound like an iFan I used to talk with who wanted to tell me, that he doesnt like Android, because he cannot jailbreak it, but jailbreak just opens new ways, but why do u need that, if ways are already open?

Quit crying already! If you want ICS on your Nexus One I assure you it will come. Just root your phone! Also, what do you expect from old hardware? The Nexus was a great phone when it was released, but it's ancient technologically speaking. Either get a phone with proper specs to run ICS or switch to Apple

I'm sick with all these updates on the mobile industry....Why don't they just make a phone with 5" display, 2.8GHz?Any phone software will definitely run on this device. And hope there will be in the future...

AnonD-16334, 28 Oct 2011for 1 ltr petrol, ymha R6 will give you 10 km milage its muc... moreWell i call it productivity since those are called "budget" vehicles while others are called "luxury sedan" or "sports cars" .
I saw people saying "iPhone is for women and android is for power-users / productivity"

When android/iOS is very good why are people rooting them ? or why are they jailbreaking iPhone ?

that tells how well users thirsty for features on their so called "androids/iDevices".

its not about performance its about reliability and user-end-ecperience , improvements.

today u can say "my phone is awesome i dont need any other phone everything is perfect" and after 2-3 years "my phone is too old it is bad it simply don't support new features from latest software updates so i need to buy new phone"

2 opposite statements in 2 years gap ? is that brainwash or reality ? that means u want features but u simply get convinced that u can't get those features which u wished at present scenario . so u compromise for now and after 2 years tech comes available in the form of "new product" so time to buy new one !

                      Seen the difference ?

Yes term update doesn't mean new OS but atleast new stuff ?
u can say android has 500000 apps and iOS has 600000 apps .
whats the use ? out of them 95% are fart apps. only 5% are just ok apps.

i am saying why people praising ICS when it got nothing new ? google can do lot better instead of brainwashing people with face-detection feature or new colored theme.

face detection is there on iphone back camera too ,
android used face detection for front camera and added API to unlock screen when face comes into contact and nothing BIG *cough* . remember phone doesnt unlock when u simply put face infront of it but it unlocks when u press lockbutton or home button then camera gets activated and takes same duration as it takes on normal "face-dectecting digital" cameras
thats why demo failed in presentation.
its just normal feature u got like 5 years back i think (face detection on a camera !)

Took 6 months to add/modify these things ?

most of the new features they said are available as tweaked API's but not completely "new creation" .

only thing they did is integrated ICS with 720p HD screen i didnt see anything new than that . and ofc better scaling API's.

AnonD-16334, 28 Oct 2011for 1 ltr petrol, ymha R6 will give you 10 km milage its muc... moreYes it counts productivity that's why u call low end cars as "budget" cars and high end as "branded" cars.

Electric cars can run upto 25 km minimum per litre. That's why they are called 3rd generation cars but USA or western countries still lag behind. They are trying push these 3rd generation cars since last year.

U don't call windows vista as innovation. Do u? Proof is most people used XP till windows 7 came.

                        Android itself brands for power-users.
Why do u jailbreak when android is very good enough ? Android developers reported that over 50% of the usage of their respective apps running on android are pirated versions.

I used to hear " android has everything and why do android need apps ? Apps are for isheep etc etc"
"when android got angry birds and iOS users said they got cut-the-rope game then they aaid its bad game or its waste but in reality many illegally ported cutrope game to android. U can see lot of forums saying that"
This is what u call fan boy arguments.

iOS users say " we jailbreak to get flash" and android user replies "haha u must jailbreak to get flash".
What is android user doing ? Simply says rooted device which is same as jailbreak but roots to get updates instead of flash. But point is u exploited it whatever reason it is.

If iOS and android are very perfect no one jailbreaks or root devices.

I remember people do "unbranding" for Symbian phones which is again same as root/jailbreak.

At the end major update means changes or tweaks in framework or UI but not just offering things which 3rd party apps offer too.

Why do u call superamoled+ as big change comparing amoled ?
First thing SA+ displays uses low power, thinner profile, better colour gamut and wider viewing angles , and no need to use glass panel again over it's top.
So it improves every aspect over SA so it's called big innovation.

AnonD-9023, 28 Oct 2011First of all , i am not biased , unlike others who say &quo... morefor 1 ltr petrol, ymha R6 will give you 10 km milage its much lesser than a normal bike's milage-would you compare it for productivity?lol ....so You dont need to go much deeper in like productivty.4-5 hours of battery life can be simply extended.only high power batteries will be ruling in coming years..

if you still feel that you are using same os with only new theme, then you should go back to eclair 2.1.can you?.if you do so hence you have the right to speak that...

and i wont sell my device every time for a new os...because i like custom roms too, espcly cm7..

the term UPDATE doesnt mean new OS

AnonD-16334, 28 Oct 2011then tell me ,what do you like to get from a mobile os ulti... moreFirst of all , i am not biased , unlike others who say "iphone rules" or "android is iphone killer" or "windows 7 is unique" etc etc .
We all know everyone copies everything and every single business runs for $$$ Profits.

Yes i can say i have 4G phone or quad-core phone but in real-life-use , they are same .

                            example ,
u can use single core phone for 7-8 hours on internet .
u can use dual-core phone for 4-5 hours on internet.
lets say that pages load on dual-core phone is twice as fast comparing single core .(but not that much difference really just an assumption)

if u can open 2000 pages in 5 hours on dualcore phone , u can open same 2000 pages in 10 hours on single-core phone (since dualcore is twice fast) so overall usage of phone is same . because in 5 hours dual-core phone runs out of charge and in 10 hours single core phone runs out of charge .

for one charge u opened 2000 pages in both phones so u didnt improve ur productivity , that is difference between real-life use and benchmarks .
u only found difference in time overall performance is same. One charge = same number of pages . everytime u wont have charger available to you and u use it for different tasks not just internet.
And buying dual-core phone costs u more money , for 4G u pay more money again comparing 3G costs. even if saved time using 4g or dual-core u payed more money o0 at the end .

At the end , OS doesnt mean speed or benchmarks , update from OS include many things not just looks and performance .

where is innovation ? i say fandroids criticize apple for no innovation but where is innovation in android ? putting same OS on all phones and tablets ? wait apple did that already last year........ right when ipad launched , ipad and iphone use almost identical OS . ICS following iOS foot-steps ? last year i saw android users criticize apple for almost putting same OS on tablet and now android does same and u call it inoovation or solution-to-fragmentation and lockscreen camera oh again copy from windows 7 .

looks , they just make new font , new color ,some eye-popping animations for transition screens and change lockscreen thats all ? no change in UI ? or no change in main framework ? . Then u must call it as "new tweaked theme" but not a "New OS" .

main thing still failed , where are updates for older phones ? i mean 2010 phones (which are below 18 months)atleast and where is security ? still no changes in rules for apps submitted to marketplace , where is open-source platform ? end-users need to root their device still. only OEMs can get android as open source .

Main answer is android is just another OS to fool customers just like iOS .

first think, only android has lot of advantage than any os..and made ultimate changes in smartphone industry just with in 1.5 years ..if there was only a nokia ,probably you woudn't see even 800mhz processr..you might think only about more cam megapixel, music, just mp4 videos etc..lol..gone lil wild..

i think its better to have both flavours on one device.(meant to be v4.0 ).definitely its more optimized os..galaxy nexus has shown better bench mark results than gs2 and iphone 4s..and also there are lot of hidden improvements than a major changes...its successor would be JELLY BEAN

                                    Good

u didnt understand my question ,
what exactly ICS brings newly ? Honeycomb is there from year starting and gingerbread too old one not a new one.

So whats new thing ICS will bring exactly ? resizable widgets and everything like editing camera features exist long b4 by using the camera apps from market.
and new slider screen and a theme .

i dont think thats a BIG one since android devices run dual core since starting and shown change in performance and now people say "ICS brings optimization etc etc"

So u buy phone in march and u can use the hardware of phone when software releases at that year end (november/decemeber or even 2012 ?

ggl, 27 Oct 2011of course Apple is better. 3GS is older than N1 and it got ... moreWho cares... Who with an iPhone 3GS wnats stupid iOS5? So i make my buttery smooth phone to a crappy laggy one... done apple. I dont see it... Everyone says apple is better because of that. N1 users, why dont you tell me, what feature you miss on Gingerbread right now, which ICS would be able to offer you? Just newer looks for an old phone. Would it run better? Probably not... probably even worse. iOS updates are needed, because Apple needs to find the way between satisfying customers who paid twice as much for the phone than for an Android one and keeping up to Android... Really now... I dont get the update bullshit. "Android doesnt get as many updates than iOS"... Yeah, but iOS is still keeping up to Android, so where are those updates needed? Of course ICS is nice, but it doesnt bring more really needed features, which an app from an third party dev could have brought us. Maybe Hardware Acceleration... ok. But else it is just some stupid propaganda of iFans who search for differences and than desperately try to make those differences look good or better than others. I would be that stubborn, too, if i paid a thousand dollars for one phone.

Look up Nintendo Wiis CPU and wonder why there is no Wii emulator for smartphone till now. Its is the CPU architecture that counts and having 1ghz doesnt mean, it is as fast, as every other 1 ghz CPU because the architeture is different and architecture of the CPU is not a little thing, it makes huge differences.

A 1 ghz CPU with really good architecture can outperform a 2 ghz CPU with a crappy architecture and Nexus ones CPU architecture is the first ever made 1 ghz Smartphone CPU architecture and because of that totally no wonder, that it is outdated.

1ghz CPU is not as fast as an other 1ghz CPU and not just by a little. Like I said, look at the Ram and Clockspeed of Nintendo Wii.
